  1. Thanks skomaz, they seemed to have done the baring and seal replacement job ok, just wondering how often these failures occur and at what mileage, anyone happy to say?
  2. Thanks, any suggestions as to where I could get the repair done in Cheshire ?
  3. Thanks R.J I was thinking more on the lines of the excessive wear due to the long over extended breaks between the service but only going by what Skoda have it as. good to think it won't go bang, but at some point I would have thought it would fail.
  4. It's a drone around about 50-60mph more prominent when I lift foot off accelerator, sounds like a brake pad sticking though it isn't. I have raised it as an issue with Skoda, and I am not sure the service schedule was adhered to tbh, though I'm probably going down the wrong rabbit hole, but tell me this, 'it seems' to me like its not really uncommon problem or am I wrong ? an expensive problem in any case. my 66 plate Scout has now done 120k miles and 6.6 years old

  6. Hi all, I know this is an old post but this is the exact same problem I have it seems, that it's the rear differential I am told by the dealer (replacement cost of £5800), with my 2016 Scout, I've now done 120,000 miles in since I got it new then , it's been serviced every year and as per the required interval by the Chester Skoda dealers. I was told by them, (though I am not totally convinced) the service schedule is done from the chassis number, so the Haldex part was only serviced at 73k miles at 4 years, but the Skoda "Maintenance prices and schedule" internet web page says 30k miles or 3 years. The dealer said they used electronic ears to determine the problem and have said its the differential, is this the issue that the service was not done correctly as posted by wfdTamar a few posts above ? I am not happy at all as it's only a 6.5 years old very well looked after loaded with extras car and reluctant to part with it. Do I pay out for a new differential and hope the services are done with the right oils ? or worry that other things go wrong soon, Skoda U.K won't I am told help with the cost because of the milage and say its up to the dealer for the service schedule? **** Help **** TMaintenance prices & Schedul
  7. Thanks yes I seen its available just seems dealer reluctant to help, oh well may just be happy without for the moment and add it on in the future myself.
  8. I have just spoken to the dealer in warrington and they said Smartgate is not a retrofitted option and is only a factory fitted option.... hope I'm not running out of options lol
  9. looks great I was thinking of using a QI charger, I'm just wondering if the USB is always powered on (battery drain) or is it powered off when the ignition is switched off?
  10. Oh no :( sorry to hear.. damm! barsturads! and the rest.. I was hoping that the stoplock pro would be able to block access to the radio units if the steering lock was on to, anyone confirm that it fits and is positionable to be effective in this way?
  11. Ah ok. I stand corrected. I'm surprised dealer didn't make that point. Though I missed that of course. Thanks.
  12. I am shortly expecting delivery of new Scout but was told by the dealer that the SmartLink will be already activated even though I had originally asked for it, but it was not on the order. I understand from a phone conversation with Skoda customer care that SmartLink won't become standard on Columbus units until possibly later this year or early next year ( is that true or have you heard likewise ?) The dealers email said I should bring the Apple lightning USB cable so as to have it setup, shown and explained. There is plenty on YouTube about it in different forms and languages. Well I'll hold dealer to their email and I'll make sure I don't get charged extra for it.
  13. Don't be, its a very legitimate and good question, as I have wondered sometimes myself but as stated, use a pressure washer at the right pressure.
