  1. Don't think the battery is dying as only 12 months old and no problems starting the car. If I put all the heavy current circuits on nothing else causes it to happen happens? Strangely it did not happen tonight.
  2. Today coming home I put my headlights on main beam and the backlight on the electric window and mirror switches started flickering, plus the rear drivers side door release illumination goes off? Any ideas what could be causing it. I don't get any errors come up to say I have a bulb failure? The car is a L&K 2009 Ocky.
  3. I have a 2007 Octavia, BKD 140 TDI on a DSG box with 99k Milage. 3 years ago it had a new turbo ( through Skoda warranty) for the dreaded power loss. Now it's back again but only seems to happen if I have used the engine breaking going down hill and then try and accelerate away. When it first started again I was told it was the sticking turbo veins causing the over boost pressure. They said I should give it a good thrash up the motorway near the redline to burn it off. So 5, miles no change, 10, 15 and more and the same thing happens. Yesterday it limp moded 3 times in 6 miles. Then it was going fine for a mile and the engine management light (EML) came on with engine imisions light came on. I sensed a little loss of power but no limp mode when pushed. Today still have EML but also limp mode. Will take it to my friendly independent VAG specialist Monday. Im hoping they can fix it and maybe my extended warranty with Warrantywise will come in handy?
  4. No it was the bog standard electric mirror with 6 wires. Mine has 11 wires (i think) the motor connector was completely different.
  5. Well I found one the right colour for £30. Unfortunately it was not the puddle light version as it only had 6 wires. However I managed to resurrect the internals from my original and get her sorted. Thanks for all the help.
  6. Many thanks for the reply's. At that price I will try the breakers. I've had a couple of quotes from £30.00 upwards. I will look out for the black surround. If I can't find one at a reasonable price I will see if I can fit the motor from the broken one. Although I it did used to have a tantrum of not going back to the correct position after dipping when finished reversing!
  7. Some nice toerag decided to break off my near side mirror whilst parked outside my house on my 07 L&K Ocky last night. So I need a replacement one. However there seems to be a number of different types. so my questions are: - Are all the electric mirrors heated? Do they all have the indicator repeater light inbuilt? Is the memory/auto dip for reversing features in the mirror unit or the control unit? (If i need to might be able to resurrect the mirror motor unit from the old one).

Don't think this would be a retro fit as you would need to replace the windscreen. Then fit the sensor, cover, wiring and control module.
  9. Finally sorted. I now have extended warranty and breakdown cover for our Citigo. Why don't Skoda make it plain that the extended warranty they now offer does not include breakdown cover. They should have given it as an option in the brochure instead of not mentioning it.
  10. I know the Navigon is a little quirky. However I find it clearer and better screen layout than my Tomom. But that's what suits me.
  11. Well finally got the Citigo fixed. Apparently the passengers air bag switch was faulty!
  12. I was told to go back to the dealer and get them to sort it out. Guess what, There computer says no extended warranty. I have now scanned my original bill of sale and e-mailed it to them. Why can't sales teams get things right first time
  13. Yes I do have the paperwork. However when I phone the AA to check I had breakdown cover they say I have no none with them. VWFS say they can't do anything as its an original warranty not an extended warranty!!!!! I never received any paperwork saying I need to renew my skoda/AA assistance. I did manage to clear up the Ocky extended warranty. Apparently I needed to visit www.insurewithskoda.co.uk website to renew my cover. When I did that the price was over double what I paid last year. I have emailed skoda customer support but as yet no response.
  14. So i phone VWFS and they said 'nothing on our system you need to contact Mondial on0345 641 9706' Phoned them and guess what 'Nothing on our system sir you need to phone VWFS. ARRRRRRrrrgh
  15. Back in December 2012 we ordered a new Citigo. we paid to extended the warranty to 5 years and were told that it gives piece of mind as Skoda Assist is included for the five years. I even emailed Skoda customer service a few months later and had a reply stating 'With regard to Extended Warranties, I am happy to confirm that Skoda Assistance, in partnership with the RAC will provide Roadside Recovery throughout the duration of the warranty' As the car is now over 3 years I decided to check with Skoda Assistance (AA) that the car was covered as I have not had anything to the contrary Sorry sir your warranty expired in Feb 2016. You need to contact your dealer or Volkswagen Financial services on 0333 043 3782 to get them to sort it out. My dealer says I have the warranty. A friend tried Skoda customer support to check his extended warranty and was told to check with Skoda Assistance. On a second note I have a Skoda approved extended warranty with Assistance which is due for renewal. I phoned the Skoda Approved warranty service to see where my renewal information was and was told that I need to contact VWFS. So the questions are: - Who should we contact to check that we have extended warranty VWFS or Skoda Assistance? What would happen if I breakdown. Do I have to pay a premium as I'm not a member of the AA or call out the dealer and pay them? So how many people are running around with a car that they think is covered by extended warranty yet has no breakdown cover? Not a happy bunny
