  1. Thanks, I'll experiment tomorrow!
  2. My Bolero is the later version, with no CD drive. I have always stored my CD's on iTunes but, when I put them on the SD card thre is no way (that I have found) of using random play. Does anyone know of a way of making tunes on an SD Card play randomly, please?
  3. Well, it got repaired witching the three weeks, then, on the way home, the oil light came on. Recovered back to the dealer and sorted. Now it keeps showing random messages on the screen, but they say it's ok to drive until they sort it. Friend us happy, but I think I would be parking it on Skoda reception desk? 4. That's the joke, guys! I have a card in the car with three years cover, but now I have a new one, which is about to expire? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Seems they are economising. When I bought the Yeti last year I got three years free breakdown . Today I got a new card with an expiry date after one year! I await a reply to my Tweet! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Is, apparently flutter, so I tried one ' Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I've never used a rear camera. When we bought the first Yeti, for my wife, I specced Park Assist, as she works in an area where parking is a problem. When we got mine, I copied it. I find it invaluable a lot of the time when manoeuvring, as it tells me when I am close to things. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. I've put in a request to SUK to confirm. I have no faith in the dealer-see comment above . Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. I'm not sure about his dealer! When I was looking at buying an Octy 4x4 I went in there to find out about the four wheel drive system. Right up yo the service manager I got blank looks!Bought, but elsewhere!
  10. Friend of mine bought a Yeti, after seeing ours. It's now one year and 13,000 miles old. He went in to book 1st service and was told it was making an unhealthy noise, which was diagnosed a timing chain tensioner. He was told not to drive it, supplied with a loan car. Now been told that the part is not carried in UK stock and it could take three weeks to ship the part from the factory and fit it. Fortunately we are (still) good friends, but it's not a good advert fro Skoda!
  11. I've downloaded a number of CD's onto an SD card for the Bolero (new version without CD), but item wildly play them in sequence. Does anyone know of a way of, either setting the Bolero ro random play, or a CD ripper program that would randomise them on the SD card? Thanks
  12. Premiums for paint colours are a rip off! My wife's white yeti, 64 plate was no extra, mine, 15 plate was £125 extra! No logic at all, both fist colours! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. With regards to seeing the element, can do on both of ours - hers 64 plate and mine 15 plate.
  14. We have two 1.2 DSG Yetis on the front. My wife's replaced a 1.9 l diesel Doblo, mine a 1.9 l Octavian estate. The Yeti is better in nearly all areas, certainly has more than enough acceleration and cruise at the legal limit with no problems . They are a little heavy on fuel, but both very low mileage, so that should change. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Going back the replacement point. many years ago I needed a practical 4x4 and the budget yielded a Suzuki Vitara, a practical box on wheels, with off-road capability for what I needed.. Fast forward to the latest version, re-hashed with the fashionable squashed arse, I wouldn't dream of buying it, it's no longer as practical, but it's very fashionable!
  16. Got into the wife's Yeti this morning , windows were wet, so I wound them down and up again. The front passenger window then went half way down again, I wound it up,mint went down, I wound it it up. On the way out it went down again. When we arrived I parked and wound the window up. Someone who arrived after us came in and told me it was half way down again, despite being parked and all switched off. Any thoughts or suggestions, please?
  17. I got confused over this. SWMBO has a 'old' Yeti, without stop/start and mine has it. I simply switched it off. Reading the manual for the older one it suggested that staying in D while stationary was not good for the gearbox, so now I live with it, for short stops, but going to N for longer ones. I agree. totally illogical, but I guess we will have to get used to things like this, as inventors invent things and legislators tell us we must have them as it's a 'GOOD THING' for some reason or other!
  18. Thought you might like some observations on the new 1.2TSi engine, which is supposed to be greener. Just repeated a drive round the M25 in my Yeti with the new engine, that I did in the wifes 'old' one. 'Old' engine cruising at 70mph max managed just about 43mpg 'New' engine managed almost 47mpg Seems it might just be true!!
  19. For many years we have run a Fiat Doblo (hers ) and a 1.9TDi Octavia Estate (mine). Last year the wife was told that she needed both knees replacd so we looked to replace the Doblo, the only criterion was auto. After a lot of research we bought her a 1.2TSi DSG Yeti. Realising that she would struggle to drive the Octy we then decided to replace it, so I bought another Yeti. On paper the performance should be similar to the Octy, as the power output is the same. In practice I have no complaints, although I am not a fast driver. As regards parking, you are sitting high up, with good all round vision, so it should not be a problem. My wife drives into London for work and has to park on street, in a congested area, so I specced self parking, which she uses regularly.
  20. I've just traded my 08 plate Octavia diesel, I have never seen the DPF light, despite doing lots of town driving! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Nope, very similar! On paper within one or two decibels. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. Thanks for your thoughts and comments. The two vehicles are, in theory, exactly the same, except that mine is the new 1.2TSi. Going to have to see what the noise figures for the tyres are. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Anyone else driven the old and new versions? My new model 15 plate is significantly noisier than the wifes 64 plate and I'm trying to decide whether it's just the tyres (one on Michelin, one on Cinturatos) or if the engine is noisier.
