  1. Hi all, Has anyone got a pic of the inside of the roof without the headlining in place?, reason being where I used to live the car got attacked by some little sods who decided to put a few dents in the roof. The paint hasn't been damaged where the dents are and I've been wondering if one of those mobile dent repair guys would be able to push them back up again. But without knowing whats behind the lining in the way of supports I'm not sure if they are in the right place for them to be got at. Many thanks Moo And Mark no comments from you! :p
  2. Ah mate sorry to hear what happened to your car, spotted it in the car park after reading this thread and "ouch!" came straight to mind. Hope you get it sorted and just deserts are handed out to the numpty that caused this! Oh and by the way, don't get any idea's about borrowing a wing off of my car even though mine is black I know what your like!
  3. You'll find the guide in here handy when you go to replace it http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/169597-seat-foam-base-replacement/page__p__2063572__hl__bolster__fromsearch__1entry2063572 be prepared for some swearing trying to get it all back together again , it's not too bad a job I did my drivers side a while ago.
  4. I'd been wondering what those wheels would look like on a black vrs, looks very nice fella
  5. Congrats Phil If you think the Beetle is slow, wait until you try the 2CV. It'll only do 66mph flat out and that's with it being tuned (or what they call tuned) It's a good laugh if you can get into a cruise around with others in Beetles or 2CV's aswell. Managed to find three other guys in Beetles the other day and went around Hawaii, all was fine until some kid in a Veyron started ramming into us all. But the comedy revenge was fun, four Beetles attacking a Veyron was very entertaining to watch.
  6. You'll find there are ten parts to each of the wrecks, once you find all of the parts the car is available to you in the second hand car dealer. Once you've got the car you can do whatever you like to it, they can be tuned and painted however you like. Mind the paint shop is a pain if you want to make a really technical design, so at the moment I've stuck with expanding the herd. I should really stick the Briskoda logo on the side of one. If you get stuck there are vids on youtube that give you the locations of each part. Moo
  7. Well I did say it was only better in some ways, the fact that there are no bikes in this one yet was a major minus point for me. As for the sound the Ferrari's make, god only knows who recorded those sounds as they certainly don't sound like any car I've heard before! Know what you mean about the sensitivity, it was a bit all or nothing at first. I did find that playing around with the settings in the control panel did help make things a bit easier, but it is a bit of a faff to get it just right. The minimap should have had the same functionality as the first game where you could actually see terrain on it and zoom in and out, as for the photo mode thats been left lacking aswell. Whereas before any pics you took were stored in your docs folder in jpg format so that you could happily use them for anything you wanted, they are now in jpg but in a format that no graphics app is able to use. So you can only view them in game (bloody daft idea!) The game may improve as time goes on with more patches addressing the issues that were seen in the beta test that still haven't been resolved. Mixture of both at the moment, I'm trying to build a complete herd. Once done I'll change the name of the garage to The Milking Shed
  8. Yep already got to Hawaii and completed all of the championship and cup races there, can't remember what level I am at the moment think it's 38. The 2CV is one of the wrecks found in Hawaii, you'll find all of the parts for it in area 1. Here's some pics as promised, as you can see there's a theme developing here I've also got the buggy painted up the same way.
  9. Yep I've got it, been playing since it came out. Know what you mean about interacting with other players, there doesn't seem to be the same atmosphere in this one that the first one had. In the first one I met loads of people who'd be up for a chat and a drive around, this time around they all seem to be nippers that are intent in knocking you off of the road in their Veyron. This seems especially so if you are driving around in the 2CV or the Beetle!, mind that could have more to do with the paintjob I've put on both of them. The game is better than the last one in someways, as in there are more roads to play about on, the major downer though is that there are no bikes as yet in this one. Although they do say that they are coming in a dlc somewhen (in atari speak "somewhen" could mean never!). The casino bit seems a bit strange in this one, but I suppose it makes up for not being able to earn money by doing the large win races again as you could in the first one to boost your cash. Username in game is the same as on here, so if you see me about gimme a shout. Damn shame there aren't any Skoda's in game though, would be nice to be tearing around in a VRS. I'll try and get some pics and post them up. moo
  10. Hi Billy, wonder if you've got the plastic cap that goes into the black panel underneath the windscreen on the passenger side, just noticed today that mines vanished. found this pic of the engine bay, if you look top right on the pic you'll see the bit I'm after http://www.britishvegoil.co.uk/smallengine/gallery/Y744TUD/KevEngineBay.jpg cheers moo
  11. Hi all, anyone got any tips on how to remove a stuck headrest?. I was going to try swapping the rears for the front ones, but unfortunately the drivers side one doesn't want to be removed, it's stuck at the lowest position and doesn't want to move at all. I know there's a button under one side of the headrest but this doesn't seem to do anything. I've tried levering it with a large screwdriver as a pry bar, but I don't want to go too mad and damage the seat or headrest. Any tips appreciated apart from get a disc cutter to it
  12. yer I've still got the receipt, i'll disconnect the battery tonight and see what happens. Just keep my fingers crossed that sorts it out cheers for your help
  13. I didn't try it with the maf unplugged, just thought I'd change it as the scan reported the maf as being the offending item. it's still got the cel light on the dash after I changed it, just wondering whether to unplug the battery for half hour to completely reset it or would it just be better to reset using vagcom ? It's a pain in the butt at the moment, thought it would have run a lot better after changing the maf not go berserk and go into limp mode .
  14. Hi all, Had my car scanned the other day and got error 16486 - Maf Sensor signal too low - intermittent. So I've changed the maf and I've still got the cel light appearing on the dash and car seem to have gone into limp mode, it didn't do this before I changed the maf. Does it need to have the ecu reset before it will realise that the maf has been changed and will then go back to normal or should it figure it out on it's own. I was just wondering if now that I've changed the maf it's gone into to limp as the signal will be higher than it was expecting with the dodgy maf. Or could it just be that I've been unlucky and I've managed to replace one dodgy maf with another ? Thanks moo
  15. I heard he died of food poisoning.... he ate a 6 year old weiner Jockeys at tomorrow’s Flemington meeting will wear black armbands out of respect for Jacko who successfully rode more 3 year olds than anyone in living memory At the autopsy they found children’s underwear strapped to his upper arm. According to his doctors it is just a patch, he’s been trying to quit for a while. Apparently Jackson wanted to be buried at sea, with 2 buoys attached Apparently his last words were “take me to the children’s ward”
  16. If you've got chance to escape the missus and kids for the day and settle yourself in front of the pc with a few tins then this is well worth a watch. BBC - Northern Ireland - North West 200 It's broadcast live over the net and racing starts at 11am, there's usually some fantastic racing and with this being the 80th anniversary it should be good. A mate of mine got me into it a couple of years ago and I've managed to watch it each year. Thankfully swmbo is away on a hen weekend this time so I've got now't else to do but relax and enjoy it
  17. That WRC spoiler looks alright, but what the hell are they thinking of with some of those body kits . Some of those poor things look like they've been Barry'd to death :thumbdwn:
  18. Hi Ian Just had the same panic going on with mine, From what I've seen on here if you are only doing short journeys and the car is not getting really hot they can suffer from a bit of condensation under the cap. I had the same fright when I looked under mine the other day, but it had not been drinking any water and didn't seem to have lost any power so I was starting to wonder about the head gasket aswell. Took mine for a long run and the next day no sludge under the cap. I also got it checked by JKM just to reassure myself that nothing was going on and they gave me the thumbs up (thanks JKM) Yours could be the same thing as mine, just a case of not using it enough. hope it's ok, but get it checked if you are still worried. Dare say someone more knowledgable will appear in a min to let you know more Tim
  19. Does anyone else think that, that Warren Brown fella looks like Boycie from Only fools and horses ? take a look and see what you think http://www.sbs.com.au/topgearaustralia/presenters/#warren_brown Comedy - Only Fools and Horses - Boycie
  20. Spiders, woke up one morning to find one of those great big house spiders sitting on the pillow next to me, I've never got out of bed so fast in my life. Basically anything that has got more than four legs is enough to give me the creeps.

    Hi All

Just got a Mk1 Octavia VRS a couple of weeks ago and got told about this place by another member, thought I should jump on and say hi. loving every minute of the car and have already got the modding bug, started with an alloy dump valve and a set of silicone hoses (still yet to fit), but I can see a load more things being done to it before too long if there's any local meets down the south I'll try and get along. By the way anyone got a tips on what to do first on the car to improve it ? all the best moo
