  1. note to self adjust driving style! I simple cannot maintain an average of over 50mpg in my Scout
  2. Are there any issues with the handbrake on Roomsters? Mine has been "looked at" twice and is still just about adequate needing a very firm pull (beyond what my wife is capable of) to hold it on steep inclines even on moderate inclines you are aware of having to pull the brake the usual "just pull it up" not being enough it takes a conscious effort to get enough bite to hold the car.
  3. Mine (1.9tdi scout) does this as well, not often but sometimes. Typically if you approach traffic lights on the over run when you stop and slip it into neutral the tick over is 1500-2000 and you have to blip the throttle to clear it. It was a bit disconcerting at first -2000 in neutral does not sound good!
  4. It was first registered to me in April this year but I think that it may have been sitting around for a while as they are not big sellers here (I've only seen 3 other roomsters and never seen another scout!)
  5. first the little spanner sign came up on the trip ( which I ignored!) now it says "INSP" where the trip metre should be. It was bought "off the peg" with delivery mileage, so it sounds like its been hanging around in the dealers for a while! Dealer says to call in and they will reset it but it all sounds a bit odd
  6. My 6 month old 1.9TDI Scout is now flashing that it needs a service but it is 6months old with 6000 miles on the clock. Any one got any ideas why it thinks it needs a service? I though the service interval was 10 000miles/12 months
  7. Gosh! how many miles have you done? I dont think that I have ever had to change the rear pads on any car that I have ever owned and certainly have never had to change the disks and I have had cars where I have put over 100k miles on them.
  8. Obviously this is an ongoing problem as my 2008 Roomster has just been recalled for air bag wiring issues.
  9. I am a bit puzzled,I have a1.9tdi scout and on page 206 of the owner hand book it tells you how great biodiesel is but on the filler cap it say no biodiesel!!!! I dont have the exhaust particle filter and cant see a problem but the dealer says "no" so why does the hand book go to great lengths to tell you how good it is? Most modern diesel is 5%bio and this is gradually going up to 20% (at least so I'm told) so what happens if it changes will we be like all those whose cars needed 4star?
