  1. Sorry I misunderstood mad monk. It was my driver seat creaking/squeaking. I thought you were referring to the front seat :-(
  2. Is that from underneath or from the side etc please because this was twice rectified by a dealer but it's been ages since it reoccured and out of warranty now so will be a diy job if/when it reoccurs.
  3. Phone a dealer, ask them to check the Interval. All you need to give them is the reg plate and they can tell you when your service is due, brake fluid, fuel filter and timing belt intervals etc over the phone.
  4. I thought they were supposed to be long-life belt to begin with but it doesn't sound like a long-life belt from your post :-(
  5. I took my car for a service yesterday and asked for the price of timing belt, water pump, tensioner etc because my car is 4 years old in march. They said all in for 400 but they had a bulletin updating the interval to 5 years instead of 4. They entered my reg on the system and it brought up when everything was due for a service/change and the timing belt was 5 years or 140, 000 miles or km (can't remember which). Anyway needless to say I was very pleased. :-D
  6. I occasionally have this with mine. Also when I get out after a drive sometimes only the drivers door unlocks and I have to get the kids out through the window. Happens about once a month but kids aren't always in when it happens so ut doesn't bother me then. It's still a PITA though.
  7. Not quite the same bur a mate had a pug 307 1.6 and stuck the type r badge from a cuvic on the boot. He thought it was the dogs doodahs, but In reality it looked daft. As said above though, it's your car and as Cheryl Crow would say "if it makes you happy, it can't be that bad"
  8. I have the exact issue th3 grinch has. Had it on 2 separate fabias. My kids are scared of it cos they think they are trapped. I end up taking them through their windows. It's a PITA.
  9. I have the data sticker in my service book but I didn't understand what it meant to be honest. No mention on it of 9202 or 4k4k though.
  10. Sorry for the late reply but my local dealer quoted 4k4k. I've sent off for the painted mirror now quoting cappuccino beige 4k4k...
  11. I had a wing mirror smashed off by, some silly person. Anyway to have ta replacement painted I require the paint code for a cappuccino beige 11 plate fabia. Does anybody know the paint code please? Thanks in advance Ian.
  12. P.s, I have climate control if that makes any difference. ..
  13. I did a search and found nothing but I was hoping somebody knows how to get cooling a/c air flow through the under seat vents for the rear passengers? I ask because we're off on our family holiday so I'd like the kids to feel the benefit of these to cool them, rather than having the windows down at motorway speeds (very noisy). Any help will be greatly appreciated. Does aanyone know if the dash controls havento be set on a certain setting to utilise the under seat vents??? TIA Ian.
  14. It was constructive. Many people believe those who have "burn ups" at the lights are idiots or bell ends. Jigger is clearly one of those. I personally think it is a bit immature. I thought it was cool up to the age of 22 though so it is forgivable providing you are in a certain age group.
  15. I test drove an 11 plate tdi 105 and a 61 plate tdi 75. Both 1.6 tdi elegance estates. 75 was flat and gutless. 105 was awesome. I bought the 105. On the motorway the 105 cruised at 70mph at 2000 rpm but the 75 sat at roughly 2200 rpm. I don't know whether all the gear ratios are different or just 5th gear. I bought the excellent 105. :-)
  16. I've been quoted £50 a corner for 205/45/16 landsail ls388 tyres. Has anybody had any experience with landsail tyres? The price is keen as it includes 4 tyres, fitting, new valves and balancing for £199. Seems very cheap and some bloke on amazon is selling some 17 Inch ls388's and quotes they have a fuel efficiency rating C, wet grip rating C, and noise level of 71 or 72db (I can't remember which) Does anyone have any opinions or experience of these tyres???
  17. A quick question about tyres. I have a 11-plate 1.6 tdi 105 elegance estate with 205, 45, 16's. 2 of my tyres are rated as 83w, and 2 are 87v. Does the difference matter or is there an acceptable range that the tyre can be. E.G, is the car safe with tyres ranging from 75 - 90 and p-z or whatever in between. I made these numbers and letters up obviously lol
  18. Is the actual head lamp cluster (or whatever the front ones are called, the name inexplicably escapes me) easy to remove and do it this way rather than removing the fuel filter?
  19. Thank you very much to Gazbull and Jonro for the help above. :-)
  20. Silly question but how do you access the bulbs in the rear cluster? I noticed there were no exposed screwheads or anything. P.s mine is an estate if there is any difference.
  21. My 2 previous new skodas were bought from Claybank in Eccles. A 1.4 tdi and 1.2 tsi. After 1 year of the tsi I wanted a diesel again. The best priced and specced car I found was from Lightcliffe in Warrington do this was my 1st buying experience with them. NEVER AGAIN. Anyway, to round off my 2 threads I finally got a refund from lightcliffe on monday, checked yesterday and the cash was in my bank. Visited Claybank and ten mins later I had paperwork naming 2 services and 1 mot. Also i was told due to my cars mileage I will recieve the brake fluid, fuel filter and air+pollen filters over the course of the plan and had my car booked in with them, inc a courtesy car, and my minor warranty niggles noted down to repair at the same time. Ten minutes to do what Lightcliffe couldn't do in 5 weeks. Top marks Claybank :-)
  22. SORTED. Got a refund of 349 on my card after they tried to put 299 on it. Apparently 2 to 3 days for the money to hit my account. Any idea if that estimate is accurate anyone?
