Hi all My OAP mother-in-law bought a new Octavia 1.4 petrol on my advice back in '03. The car served her well apart from a few misfire (coil pack) issues. In fact when the car was in the main dealers for another coil pack this week, the dealer offered her an '08 Fabia for €4,500 plus her Octavia. She doesn't know any details but I suspect it is the 3-pot base model 1.2 petrol. Her Octavia is in good nick with very low miles (less than 40k iirc in 8 years) What are your thoughts on this deal? I presume the Fabia would come with a bit of warranty (still manufacturers warranty or what would be the standard Skoda dealer warranty on a newish second hand car?). What are your thoughts on the 3-pot engine? She would do mainly Dublin area driving and the car does not need to be nippy at all. She would never overtake a car on a main national road I know the 3-pot is chain driven, which is a big benefit in my view. She's likely to keep the car for 5+ years, maybe even much longer

3 childseats in the back of the Mk I?
unkel replied to unkel's topic in Skoda Superb Mk I (2001-2008)
Thanks for the help. I guess the best way to find out is indeed to bring the seats to the car to check it out -
2 high-back booster seats and 1 either rear facing child seat or a upright full child seat (children's ages are 4, nearly 2 and newborn) Does it fit? As in comfortably? It fits in our Rover 75 as I suspect in most cars of that size with 3 full seatbelts in the back, but it is very tight and hard to get them all secured

Yes, it's 15 amp Understatement of the month Apart from the fuse schema ****-up, it's full of typos and the index points to the wrong pages. And that's my conclusion after reading only about 2 pages...

Spot on. That's consistent with: Printed and inserted into the owners manual! It was the fuse. Just replaced it and the radio is working again. Mother in law is fierce impressed Thanks a lot for all your help!

'03 1.4 petrol. The manual (page 162-164) refers to the fuse panel beside the drivers door with fuses 1 to 44. Fair enough, easy to find and open etc. But what about fuses 45-59? Where are they? I'm interested in fuse 57 in particular. Called "Radin" in the manual but I presume they mean "Radio"? The Radio / CD player in my mother in law's car stopped working altogether... All help appreciated!
