  1. Photocopying is a great idea for the future but unfortunately i didn't think of that one, cheers for the advice though.
  2. Well he seems happy to take the car without it as he has seen the car with the private plates on and knows the only reason i don't have it is because i've sent it to the DVLA. Just making sure it is legal to sell without the v5 to hand? I will obviously do a receipt and keep a copy with the time and date i sold the car to him, don't want any speeding tickets through the door! Also has anyone else had this problem and how long after the revised MOT and Tax Disc arriving did the v5 take to arrive?
  3. Hi guys, after some advice here. I have provisionally sold my car but do not have the v5 document back from the DVLA yet. Is it still ok to sell and then send the v5 off with the new owners details on it when it arrives? Reason i sent it off in the first place was to get my private plate put on retention and the cars previous plate re-assigned to the vehicle. Have received the MOT certificate and Tax Disc with the old registration on them but the letter states that the v5 could take upto 4 weeks! New owner is waiting to pick the car up. Any advice???
  4. Hi Martin, it's a straight swap and i lost no reception whatsoever. Original aerial has some kind of anti-theft mechanism so you have to prize it off! I would do a search on here for a guide before attempting it though!
  5. I got £3900 for it, not bad for an 8 year old car. Question is do i now get a Fabia vRS or go abit more economical and get a newer Fabia 1.4TDI?
  6. I've just had to sell up too mate and am also on the hunt for a Fabia vRS! http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/171049-just-sold-my-mk1-octavia-vrs/page__pid__2074511__st__0entry2074511
  7. To be honest i'm a little gutted as it is an excellent car but i refuse to pay £235 road tax and want a car i can actually fit in my garage!
  8. As title says i've just parted with my Octavia vRs :( :'( http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1956468.htm Time to search for a Fabia vRS to replace it
  9. Was a little confused and shocked when i saw this, i have never heard of a vRX! Anyone on here own one? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2006-SKODA-OCTAVIA-FSI-vRS-Look-Special-Edition-/130419546032?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item1e5d9c57b0
  10. I've just entered again with Higham Ferrers F.C!
  11. Ha Ha...what a shed. Gotta be one for Barryboys!
  12. Wow! i just spent a good 45mins reading this and i must say i am just a tad impressed with the time and effort you have put into this. What a cracking looking mk2.
  13. Hi guys, my brake discs and pads will need replacing at the next service which is due shortly. I need the exact OEM part numbers for the front discs, front pads, rear discs and rear pads that are relevant to my car.. My car is a mk1 Octavia vRS 02 plate. I am abit confused as i came across a seller on ebay who was selling front discs but had this in the description:- THIS PART DOES NOT FIT ALL VERSIONS OF THIS CAR! Also could you please advise me of the best place to order the OEM full discs and pads from? Many Thanks.
  14. Hi, these links may help... http://briskoda.net/octavia-i/now-no-central-locking/151469/ http://briskoda.net/general-guides/door-card-removal-deadlocked-octavia/124920/
  15. Have you tried taking the aftermarket stereo that you fitted out, then see if you have the same problem?
  16. Hi Yaro, i have provided a link below to where i got my Forge 007P(a) from. You can clearly see the difference between the 007P and the 007P(a) in the pictures. IMHO it is worth spending the extra bit of money to eliminate the engine cover from rubbing on the vacuum hose. Very easy fit as it's a direct replacement for the OEM one. You will just need to source some jubilee clips from some where as the original ones are non re-usable. Also just to note it may be worth getting good quality jubilee clips that do not cut into the hose when fitted! Full fitting instructions should be provided with the diverter valve or just go on the Forge website for a step by step guide. I went for the anadosed Black DV as i prefer the standard-ish look on my car even if it is under the bonnet! http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/divertervalves.htm
  17. Yeah, the Forge 007P(a). Trust me i've tried the 007P, the Split-R and the 007P(a) on my re-mapped vRS and the latter one works the best.
  18. I have a Forge 007P(a) on mine. This is the updated version of the 007P, so the vacuum hose connects on the side instead of in the middle of the top. It is fully adjustable too so does not rub on the bottom of the engine cover! I recommend this to anyone who is experiencing the hose rubbing on the bottom of the engine cover as it eliminates this problem. Heres a link to where i purchased my Forge 007P(a) from:- http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/divertervalves.htm
  19. Great reply, thank you very much! Yeah should be able to get the whole set for around £155 off ebay if they discount the postage a little. Think i will go and see my local garage for a quote on fitting them and doing the service all at the same time. Fitting them myself is not an option as i've never done brakes before and would be too worried i get something wrong! Just a few questions, do you get that horrible rusty look on the Mintex discs when they have been wet. I hate the look of the OEM ones when this happens. Also can my insurance company class them as an upgrade, making my insurance void if i was to have an accident? Cheers again
  20. Hi, my front and rear discs and pads will all need replacing on my next service. As my nearest Skoda dealer (Autohaus Northampton) has gone i refuse to drive to Bedford to get the work done. So i have decided to buy them all myself and get my local trusty independent garage to fit them aswell as carry out the service. First of all would it be worth buying the whole set off ebay for around £155 from the same seller you used? Also would this work out cheaper to buy myself and go with my local garage or should i just drive to the nearest Skoda dealer and get them to supply and fit? I am just interested in saving as much money as i can! So whats the cheapest option and way of getting the brakes done available to me? Is it worth upgrading to Mintex or should i just try and source some OEM parts? Any advice?
