  1. I ordered four tyres from them online from the UK on Thursday evening 3rd March, they arrived this morning Monday 7th March. Good service and easily the best price on the internet.
  2. DSG would be alright if the kickdown function were disabled in manual mode. It is this one thing that ruins the car for me. Upshifts at the red line I can live with, but the unwanted downshifts when executing a specific manoeuvre in my chosen gear are unforgivable, and mean that I can't drive the car as fast or with full commitment. Control, fluidity and balance are removed from the driving experience. Smoothness and safe speed is replaced with a screaming engine and power understeer taking me off my chosen line, particularly in the damp. I like my car, but the DSG is crude and cackhanded. I need that REVO DSG remap, but they don't do one for the Furby vRS.
  3. I'm averaging about 31mpg, compared to 48mpg on my old diesel vRS. It doesn't help that the DSG has it labouring down the road in 7th at 30mph, or screaming it's nuts off when you press on. And there is no manual control, they lied about that, it's auto only. If you could actually control the gears, fuel consumption might be a bit better, as you could keep it in the right band so it's effortless, and neither labouring nor screaming. I like the car, but hate the DSG with a passion.
  4. Mine used about 1 1/2 litres of oil in the 1st 1700 miles, it was absolutely drinking it. Now done around 3500 miles and it appears to have settled down, but it's still needing the odd top up.
  5. I called into my local Skoda dealer today to enquire about the new vRS, my LE is due to be changed at the end of its lease in October. I was told they don't expect to be able to take any orders until September, and then a three month lead time. Realistically 2011 delivery.
  6. The beep was very sharp, loud and piercing on the earlier cars, they did change it later though, much softer now, it doesn't make you jump out of your skin anymore. At least, that's been my experience going from an 04 to an 07 vRS.
  7. This is a really good day out, even if you're not really into Eastern block classic cars from the cold war era, or older Skodas in general. I go just to see the Tatras alone. Recommended.
  8. I have now received a cheque from Dragon, and have banked it.
  9. Hi folks. I had a Black Magic Fabia vRS for three years and 60K, every now & then I picked up the odd stone chip and touched it up, no problem, that's life. The car was handed back to the lease company at three years old, still looking more or less like new. LR54ZYE, where are you now I wonder? I now have a Race Blue Fabia vRS LE, and at six months and 10K the front of the car is ready for a re-spray, I have owned many cars over 25 years, and I have not had a car as ready to collect stone chips as this car, it is peppered with them. Is this likely to be a paint fault? and is Race Blue known for this problem? Car is in for its 1st service on Monday, I will ask them to comment. Thanks in advance.
  10. Still no sign of my refund from Dragon. Looks like i'm going to have to start with a solicitors letter, some contact with trading standards, and take it from there. If you're in the market for a tuning box folks, choose wisely.
  11. When I first fitted it, and went out for a blast, the result was impressive, and it felt like it was improving as the miles piled on too, getting stronger and stronger. It was very aggressive, the car went like stink. However, after living with it for a few days, and getting over the initial honeymoon with the extra kick of power, and boy did it kick! I then started to realise that actually, the thing was flawed and full of holes, as far as driveability was concerned. The engine was rougher, not smoother, as had been claimed. It started to really drink fuel too, guzzling it down, also contrary to claims. When the car was new I had the hesitation problem at around 1800rpm, which was cured under warranty and had since been fine (the EGR gasket problem) but this came back with a vengeance and the car kangarooed about quite a bit, and at various other points through the rev range too. Very erratic, difficult to drive smoothly when just driving normally. Then there was the smoke, unbelievable amounts of smoke. I have seen diesel cars belch out soot and particulates before, but this was something else, totally embarrassing, completely unacceptable. But the biggest problem was that whenever I got up to speeds on motorways or dual carriageways, it sent the car into 'limp home' mode. Every time, several times a day. I couldn't live with that, no way. I used the jumper pins and turned it down bit by bit, from the default central pin position, to a level that wouldn't send it into limp home mode, but by then, all that stonking performance had been wittled away, and yet it still ran like a bag of bolts, and it still smoked, although to a lesser degree. After about a week with it, I took it off, and I was gobsmacked at how well the car drove again in standard tune. I was stunned, it is now a nice car to drive again, it just wasn't with the Dragon. For: Ridiculous, and I do mean ridiculous levels of power gained, it felt much much more than the claimed gains. Against: Lousy driveability, increased fuel consumption, smoke, limp home mode easily triggered. It is a real shame that it didn't work out, if I could have had that level of performance, without the drawbacks, I would have been very happy. Contacting Dragon to return it under the 30 day money back guarantee was no problem, and I got a returns number right away, their service at all times had been excellent. They just don't appear to be able to punch a few buttons on their credit card machine and refund my money.
  12. I had hoped to avoid mentioning it on any motoring forums, as there are usually 'name & shame' rules, but I guess this morning I had lost patience and had to have a bit of a keyboard moment. Apologies for washing dirty laundry in public, I ordered from Dragon on the strength of positive experiences related on threads such as this on various motoring forums, so I guess folks are entitled to hear of the negative experiences when they occur too. I have no particular axe to grind with them, it didn't work for me, I want my money back, and this is supposed to be processed within 14 days, simple. If they had said within 30 days or 45 days, or hadn't failed to meet previous assurances, I wouldn't be complaining. I have had one final attempt today to obtain my refund, and again they say it will be processed soon, so we'll have to wait and see. Failing that, next step will be a solicitors letter asking for clarification of the issue on their part, followed by court proceedings, obtaining a judgement and putting it in the hands of a debt recovery agency.
  13. Well I wouldn't recommend Dragon at all. If you order one and it works out OK, then I suppose fine. But if it doesn't work out, trying to get a refund is very difficult, despite the assurances on their website to the contrary. The dragon didn't get on with my car at all, I fulfilled all the returns criteria to the letter and sent the unit back in March. Despite several phone calls and e-mails, and multiple promise of "It will be done today/tomorrow/this week" etc, I still haven't had my refund. I am £425 down, and have nothing to show for it except the grief and frustration of not being able to get my money back.
  14. Will I have the last LE to be registered? I don't get mine until 21st October, so it will be on a 57 plate. As for the leather, I will be using Gliptone Liquid Leather conditioner on mine, it smells great and will hopefully will make it feel & smell less like the cheap grey vinyl look stuff which passes for leather on even BMW'S, Merc's & Jags these days.
  15. Well, that was a moan wasn't it? But I am now a happy bunny again. The leasing company has ordered me a Special Edition run out vRS, and they are going to sit on it until the end of October for me. Which is nice
