  1. I had the water under the cd changer. It turned out that it was coming from the rear wash pipe. There is a really rubbish connection behind the carpet were the cd changer is mounted. It is a black pipe. Check that. I know you said it only happens when its raining but i only use my wipers when its raining, occasionally have to squirt the windows hense the puddle in the boot. Not sure if this will help, but might be worth checking.
  2. You could also try www.jhmbuttco.com or www.body-kit.co.uk
  3. I have had a look on Milotec and there are a few badgeless grilles. They range from
  4. Should have said before. The old unit does still work. The reason i am looking at changing is because i would like to have an Auto starter, so i can start the car to warm it up whilst i am in the house. I am confident in most wiring in the car. Have put in False floor in boot and cabled quick release power so i can remove it all. Have wired in additional interior lighting so i can see in the back. But one thing have never played with is imobiliser (spelling, sorry). If i buy new system i think it is possible just to install the starter but it would still need to be linked to the imobiliser.
  5. And alternaror i think. I have to keep doing things otherwise i will get bored and look at changing car so i can start again. But i like it too much. Wife thinks am stupid. Says i am degrading my car by adding thing. I put a false floor in the boot so i could hide my amp cable and put bass tubes in. Have two plugs, one does power one does speakers. This way i can take it all out in about 2 mins. She said i was too old to play loud music and inconsiderate to fill boot when we have kids. Looking at all i have written, maybe i should change the wife and stay happy with the car. lol
  6. I have got a scorpion alarm system installed on my car. It was done before i bought it so don't know anything about it. I has a red push button led on the dash next to the radio that lights up when doors are locked. My questions are: 1. If i install a new system is it better to take the Scorpion one out or wire round it 2. If i install a remote start do you think it will work with the scorpion/immobiliser I am tempted to wade in and just do it, but can afford not to have the car if i break it. All avise appreciated. Thanks
  7. I swapped the live and permanent live on my Kenwood unit. But i did it on the loom that came with the head unit. Can't see it burning out the head unit, you would just lose all your presets each time you turn the unit off. let us know how you get on with the DAB, am thinking about getting one.
  8. I have got cable and switches every where. Have cabled my amplifier to a switch mounted in the Ash Tray. My Handfree kit is wired to under the drivers dash. My PDA is hardwired to same place. Have hidden all of the wires so they cant be seen but have loads under steering column. Need to sort it out really. I found the hardest thing to do was run the electrics and tubing for the three guage pod on the A Pillar. Pretty tight squeeze through the gromet by the windscreen wiper. Have run out of ideas though so looking for more thing to do, thats why i asked.
  9. Thanks for the link. I have now run cables, scarily from almost the exact same place. I have unfortunately had the wrond lights delivered, but am trying them all the same. Have to wait for it to stop raining so i can finish off. The lights that were delivered are Blue neon lights. Still will give it a go with them. Will post a pic for a laugh. Once again thanks for your help. Have you tried any other electrical mods?
  10. I thought the earth was on a relay timer. So i used the earth from the light and a live from the boot. But when i unlock the car, the main light comes on but the new light doesn't seem to work. I have taken the dash under the steering wheel out and had a look for relays but didn't really not what i was looking for. Besides have got so many addtional wires, tubes and switches under there was pretty difficult to see. If it is a switched earth the i will have to check my wiring, but as is dark will wait for the morning. M
  11. Can anyone tell me how i can add an additional interior light to the existing one. I am trying to put an additional light in the back, but i cannot work out how to get it to come on with the other. There seems to be two permanent lives and an earth going to the front light. I have tried taking a live and the earth to the new light but it stays on even when the other dims and turns off. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks
  12. it does like there is a gap there i hadn't noticed it. In the flesh it fits flush against the standard pillar. the part that looks like a gap is finishing edge. I have screwed it to the original pillar behind the 1st and 3rd gauge. I counter sunk them and covered the screws with the 2 bits i drilled out. Looks ok. I did have to drill through the standard pillar to run through all the pipes and cables.
  13. I have a triple a pillar pod in my octavia vrs. Bought it from Icon Styling . com. It was a carbon look universal fit. It was the right width but not right curviture. Had to amend it with a black and decker but was dead easy. Cost me 23.95 new. I am nothing to do with the site so am not suggesting they are the greatest, they just had what i was looking for at the time. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showthread.php?t=25748&highlight=triple+pod There is a picture of my Pod on the above link Mark
  14. http://www.milotec.de/english Go to Head Lamp and Tail Lamp. Tail Lamps are around
  15. Chris, what type of combo are you running, Kenwood, Pioneer, Blaupunkt? If you really want to do it that way, you can use a scotch lock on the permanent live to your head unit. I run a line to my amp from the fuse box but it is ignition live only. Cant find any spare lines in the fuse box that are permantent (Octavia).
