  1. Hi, How much smoke is too much on a Fabia vRS? I noticed this morning accelerating uphill a lot of smoke out the rear window. Its not normally that smokey, will pulling uphill make it smoke a lot more, couple of miles later on the flat I can't see any smoke. D
  2. I have tried the springs. The Caliper is for the bin. As far as I can see do you need to paint new caliper green?
  3. I require to get a new rear caliper as im having binding issues and caliper seems to be at fault, wondering what the going rate is for a rear caliper to be fitted to vrs? Thanks Dave
  4. I came out to my car the other day, noticing someone had scuffed the bumper. There is an area of 6inch by 6inch with scratches not fully through to plastic. Would t cut be ok to use on rear bumper? How effective is t cut, and how hard/ long would you need to spend to remove the scratches. Really annoys me when people do this to other cars and drive away.
  5. Got the car checked by independant garage today. Intermitent Fault Found with Aralm Siren. Fault code was cleared, although was advise it could be poor wiring on Alarm Unit itself. Can anyone tell me where Id find Alarm Siren on the car.
  6. has anyone got vagcom in Glasgow area?
  7. Im still having problems with this alarm, car has been to dealership and reported no problems. Last night it went off loads of time, I moved the car and parked it 20yards away and it was fine. Seems to be when it rains the problems shows up the most.
  8. Im having problem with VRS, the alarm keeps going off randomly. I noticed tonight that while locking the car if you press the lock button twice the hazard lights didnt flash. I have not used the car this week, and had washed it before not using it. Wondering if its a sticky sensor? Bonnet maybe? Any help would be super. Cheers Dave
  9. My Fabia Vrs Serviced and belt replaced, 60k and 4 years a few weeks ago. Today I noticed some oil on the plastic joint between plastic lower engine cover and arch lining at the bottom of the engine. (left hand side looking from the front. I was wondering if this could be oil from old oil being drained or should I investigate with dealer? Oil level is fine on the dipstick, just I noticed it when I had parked my car full lock and seen some oil residue.
  10. Wouldnt say they drop a lot, 100rpm max. Just noticed it and now im bit worried.
  11. Ive noticed something strange with the rev counter and dont know if there is a problem with it. When driving at 70mph in 6th and suddenly lift off the rev counter drops a bit, I first thought it was the clutch slipping but think its fine. Its only on 37k and not chipped. I think it may just be the rev counter.
  12. Ive got a knock coming from from right, everytime I go round a corner you hear a knock. Wonder if anybody has had similar problem? its 05plate vrs with 30k, just had it service 10days ago was wondering if garage done anything...
  13. To end this thread... I really posted about fuel economy on Leon. After dropping brother at airport this morning, I was allowed to take his car, I can confirm it is alot quicker than Fabia. I was impressed with performance on Leon, but must add its not stupid quick. My mate has a S14a 200sx pushing 280bhp now thats a fairly quick car. But then again you get used to how that pulls.
  14. Has anyone driven the Diesel FR Leon? My brother has just got one. It doestnt seem that quick, Turbo kicks in later than my vRS. Im waiting til he runs it in to have an in gear challenge. Hes only managing 35mpg out of it and 42mpg on motorway runs. I dont really remember my vRS being poor economy when it was new.
