  1. Try the throttle body.... my 1.8T was the same... Look on the forum for a great tutorial!
  2. Hi Guys My 2002 1.8T 4X4 hatch has been serviced 3k miles ago and is running sweetly other than a tiny misfire when first started. This is a tiny blip under light throttle and has been doing it for approx 6k miles. The car isnt running rough, tappetty, burning oil, using too much fuel etc...... However, friday eve I was driving home and all was well. Stopped at the shop for 30mins and then restarted to see the engine management orange light on  !! The only thing that I did that was unusual was I turned on the air con (usually have it on ECON mode) Could this be linked? Any ideas? Should I panic or not quite......? Obviously read some of the more pertinent post suggesting 'flighty' ECU faults. Appreciate all your help and advice guys
  3. Hiya fellas I agree that independants are far better. My brother is a main dealer mechanic and says that you get worse service from a main dealer than you would at your local back street garage. My recommenadtion is to use OE parts and just have the service book stamped up. Keep all bills as proof for potential buyers. Once you find a local garage they tend to get cheaper with return custom too.... much more trustworthy too I think Cheers
  4. Balls to all that Jap stuff. Keep the Vrs and buy yourself a series 1 3.2s boxster with low miles for about 12-15k. Put it on low miles policy and enjoy the Octy for its reliability and blow away the VXR, Type R's, Scooby's and all that with some class.... oh reliably German too!!! Servicing can be done through less than expensive specialists and you wont lose much should you wish to sell in a year or two. How bout that then??? Davo
  5. Oooooh the cheek of it Nelson..... jealousy will get you nowhere ha ha New rear number plate on its way asap
  6. Thanks Fellas What do you all think about changing all 4 or having them all the same? Normally on 4x4's thats not the case, sespecially given most run on run flats nowadays? Thanks again Davo
  7. Thanks Fellas Yes Nelson that is the one I bought ..... sorry I got there before you (well not really ) Cheers Davo
  8. Hi guys Gonna need two new tyres for the 4x4 soon. Don't like spending a fortune on rubber so what do you recommend? Oh and when does the Haldex oil and filter need changing and how easy is that to do? Thanks Angrydavo
  9. Yup loads of 57's up in the north east too..... All Taxi's
  10. Your right insecure, wierd and highly annoying! My old Golf V5 and my Audi A6 did. Its easier just to get it plugged into a Bosch service computer that can overwrite the fault code
  11. Thanks guys. Will post a pic when I get chance. RE: bargian... oh yes there's one on flea bay at £4295! RE: Body roll. It does but only as much as a similar aged Gold/bora. RE: Cam belt. Done at 68k with bill. Only issue I have is that it has a leaky sunroof...... but only when I wash it, not when it pours down  Oh and Haldex oil and filter????? What tyres do you guys recommend??? Thanks again Angrydavo
