  1. What sealant or sealants do you suggest ?
  2. I get 37.5mpg measured with mixed driving, Ayr to Kilmarnock 36 miles round trip each day plus longer runs at weekends, trip computer thingy usually says about 40mpg, its a 2010 standard car, no tweaks and 25k miles on it now. Like Georges offer if you want, you can drop round ( I'm in Ayr ) and see how you get on driving mine if you want to compare, just PM me. Gordon.
  3. Nice wee car, where in the country are you ? would be nice car for my son.
  4. Did the excel sheet thing for my Mk1 Vrs from new and it averaged out at an actual measured 46mpg in 5years over 94,000 miles. Started doing it with the Mk2 Vrs when I got it back in early Nov. and so far I'm getting 37mpg measured over 3,424 miles which for a car with this performance is pretty good. I do a 40 mile round trip commute on A roads each day and mixed running about at the weekend between in town and A roads, mostly keeping to the legal limits with the odd blast every so often and have only ever put Tesco Momentum and one fill of Sainsbury Super in it
  5. Mk1 vrs 16's on Mk2 vrs - straight swap over
  6. Hi Statto, Didn't sell them, kept them, as they were a straight swap over for the std. 17" Mk2 wheels. Cheers.
  7. Just in case anybody is interested my ex-car is now for sale at : http://www.john-clar...540/skoda-fabia
  8. Dont know if its the new / different rubber or higher sidewalls or what but seems quieter on the road
  9. Well here goes, mk1 vrs 16's on Mk2 vrs, straight swap, no problems, not sure about them, but will do as winters. Also fitted mudflaps while wheels were off.
  10. Well I've just traded in my mk1 vrs for a mk2 vrs and already have a set of winter tyres on a set of old but refurbished last year alloys and before I punt them just wondered if they would fit new car . If so will keep them and will put piccies up.
  11. Would Mk1 fabia vrs 16" standard alloys with 205/45/16 winter tyres fit a Mk2 fabia vrs as winter wheels ? Has Anybody tried Mk1 vrs wheels on Mk2 vrs ? The size calculater thingy indicates there is very little in it, but do they actually fit ? Will probably try it at the weekend to see.
  12. Would Mk1 fabia 16" standard alloys with 205/45/16 tyres fit a Mk2 fabia as winter wheels ie would they be a good alternative to the Mk2s 205/40/17 tyres and 17" wheels ?
  13. OK out with the old and in with the new. Traded in my 07 Mk1 vrs se for a 10 Mk2 vrs today, only done a 100 miles or so in it back from the dealers and love it already although have gone to press the clutch a few times especially coming up to junctions. A question for all you brikodians out there, why do you think my Mk1 vrs se didn't sell privately ? too high a price ? too high a mileage ? not full service history ? too far away from main populaton centres ? or what ? I did have enquires and people look at it but they all need to sell their own cars first and didn't have the money at the time.
  14. Last chance if anybody is interested, because unless I sell by Friday I'm trading it in for a MkII Fabia VRS first thing on Saturday morning. And have agreed a very fair trade-in figure with the Skoda Dealer and is a fair bit more than non-franchise folks were offering.
  15. Meant to say my local dealer is Ingram Skoda in Ayr , Ayrshire, Scotland
  16. Got a letter and flyer yesterday from my local Skoda dealer about The Rapid launch plus free servicing and mots for 3years on used cars bought next weekend . Now I was wondering if other folks got this or if it was a national Skoda deal as I'm potentially going to look at a fabia vrs abot 90miles away at another skoda franchise desler and if this was a national deal I should wait till next weekend, or use it as a bargaining tool. Anybody know ???
  17. Reduced to £5,300 with the extra wheels or £5,000 without the extra set of winter tyres & wheels.
