  1. My insurance went down by a couple of pounds - I was moving from an Octavia Estate to the Karoq. My existing insurer did appear to be cheaper than the comparison sites (unusually!) so it'll be worth seeing what they say.
  2. I didn't get any mats with my SE Technology (as they're not standard) and I didn't negotiate including any. Any of those with 'spares' interested in selling them on?
  3. They certainly do - I think it is actually standard across the range. I still need to work out to use Adaptive Cruise Control properly as I've only had 'normal' CC before!
  4. Morning all. Here's my SE Technology 1.0Tsi in Energy Blue. I like the colour - it's grown on me.
  5. I absolutely agree. I got the car on a 2 year lease which was such good value that I didn't fancy paying £20 a month more for a different colour!
  6. I picked my car up tonight and then promptly got stuck in a traffic jam for 1.5 hours. First impressions are that it is a very nice car, but tomorrow I hope to get it above 10 mph! I will take some photos when it's light tomorrow. I think the blue is ok - I quite like it, and the salesman seemed to think it was better than he expected. It's not as classy as some of the other colours but it's just a car so I'm not overly bothered.
  7. I'm in south Essex and haven't seen any Karoq's on the road yet. My Karoq was build week 4 and I am collecting on Thursday. I've got an SE Technology 1.0Tsi in Energy Blue (as it's a lease car) - I'll post some photos when I have it as I know a few people wanted to know what the 'free' colour looked like.
  8. Indeed - hence why I went for an SE Technology!
  9. The SE Technology specification is designed for fleet drivers. It's only available for cash purchases or those buying through personal contract hire/leasing. The deals on PCH a few months ago were exceptionally attractive and the SE Technology specification is the same list price as SE but with more features.
  10. Thanks, I didn't think it was. It looks like whoever wrote the press release and sent it out didn't check it in enough detail!
  11. Several 'news' articles have been published today citing the launch of the Karoq SE Technology (e.g. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/skoda/karoq/102496/new-skoda-karoq-se-technology-targets-business-users). Within all of these articles it suggests that the panoramic sunroof comes as standard on the SE Technology. The Skoda UK configurator lists this as an expensive option, and I've not seen it listed anywhere else before today as being standard. Does anyone know whether this is included or not? I have an SE Technology which was built last week so should be with me at the end of February and I wasn't expecting a sunroof (although it isn't necessarily a problem!). Dave
  12. Just found some sample photos of the colours at https://www.carwow.co.uk/blog/skoda-karoq.
  13. I've gone for an SE Technology in Energy Blue so I'm hoping the colour is ok! SE Technology trim has some good discounts so I've got a 1.0 SE Technology for 8,000 miles per year over 24 months at £219 inc VAT per month (1+23). It was cheaper than getting an Octavia Estate!
  14. Thank you - I'll give that a go and see what happens.
  15. Hi, My wife and I picked up our white Black Edition estate on Saturday - it's a cracking car and we're very happy with it. The only problem I've found so far is that the parking sensors aren't making a noise when reversing. Every time I put the car into reverse it's muting the sensors by default, and if I press the button to unmute the beeping it still doesn't make a noise. In both situations it does show a working on-screen diagram, it's just not beeping. I've had a look in the settings and it's not set to be muted so I'm a bit confused. Is this a feature of the system or is there a setting I need to change? Thanks, Dave
  16. We went for anthracity grey (a third colour choice that's not shown in the brochure). We used to have a Fabia in that colour and it looked great.
  17. Oh and you don't get the £500 deposit contribution with the SE Connect, unfortunately.
  18. Hi everyone - we went for the 1.6TDI SE Connect in the end. The difference in price to move to the SE Plus was too great (as the dealer wasn't particularly willing to haggle) and we decided that we prefer the drive of a diesel. I did manage to get floor mats, Diamondbrite coating and a spare wheel thrown in so overall I'm pretty pleased. Thanks for all your advice!
  19. Thanks guys - useful information. The reason we're thinking of an estate is because I actually prefer the shape of it, and my wife thinks it'll be easier for visibility to reverse than the hatch, but we're going to test drive one today to confirm whether that's the case. As for build times, I'll talk to the dealer about that too.
  20. Hi everyone, I'm after a bit of advice and wonder if you lovely people could oblige! My wife and I are looking to change from our current car (a 2010 SEAT Leon 1.6TDI SE Ecomotive) as we've recently had a baby and need some more boot space for all the stuff that seems to come with offspring. We think the Octavia Estate will suit us well and had a Fabia in the past that we loved. We now drive around 11,000 miles a year, probably split 50/50 between town driving and long journeys. I'm not heavy-footed but probably only achieve around 50Mpg in our current car. Would people suggest a 1.4Tsi or 1.6TDI for our Octavia? We're not particularly fussed either way but can't decide what would best. I'm also torn between the SE Connect and SE Plus spec; the SE Connect is a bargain (at 25% off) but doesn't have cruise control or steering wheel controls, which I have become used to on our current car, and we could only have in diesel form. The SE Plus doesn't have these either but it is possible to add options on (but is 'only' 20% off). We think the car's right for us but just wondered whether anyone had any pearls of wisdom they'd like to impart! Thanks, Dave
  21. It's probably too late but Preston's Garages in Chelmsford, Essex (a Skoda authorised repairer), only charged £65 for the 1 year 10,000 mile service of my 08 Fabia 2 1.2. And for that price they dropped me in to the town centre. They don't really do a lot for the first service other than have a bit of a look so I wouldn't want to pay too much for it! The 2 year 20,000 mile service cost me £217.60 and they lent me a courtesy car (which I had to organise insurance on, costing about £7.50). That price also included a brake fluid change.
  22. Yes I'm planning to chop it in in the hope of replacing it with something like an Octavia vRS, if my lovely lady wife will let me! I will go back to the bodyshop I spoke to last year and arrange for it to be done. Thanks again for your helpful advice everyone!
  23. Ok, thanks for the warning. Looks like I'll have to get it done!
  24. Ok, thanks. Having just found the loan agreement it just says that I am responsible for all damage to the vehicle (as I would have expected) but doesn't say anything more specific than that.
