  1. As the topic title says really. They look the same and I have an a3 that I'm scrapping. Cheers.
  2. You'll find the aluminium pushrods are fine I had to use them in Kermit and he revs to 8300.
  3. Nah the first one I bought was MK1 Escort from Compbrake, Jim but I couldn't make that fit. The second is a universal one from Compbrake. I have most of a MK1 Escort pedal box for sale if you're interested lol
  4. Sorry the above is in the wrong order , I don't appear to be allowed to edit it but I'm sure you guy's can figure out the right sequence.
  5. I’ve been working on replacing the original pedal set up i.e. the lever mechanism that transfers the brake pedal movement from right side of the car to the left side. Thus reducing weight, frictional forces and adds mechanical advantage. It’s been a bit of pain and it’s not finished yet but I can at last see light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve had to buy two universal pedal boxes ‘cause the first one turned out impossible to fit, a lathe and a plasma cutter. Trouble being, there’s not a lot of room, here are a few photo’s that perhaps explained the problems better. I'll post more as I tidy and sort the rest out.
  6. Yeah I might try painting the underside of the rear bumper but I also want to build a diffuser to go under there so what colour should I do that ? I believe it is still the highest bhp one. Yeah my sig and avatar need changing, I must get round to it.
  7. Well as this goes almost passed my front door perhaps I could tag along ? If you took the back road from Rhayader to the A438 Newtown/Lllandrindod Wells road via Abbeycwmhir then it would :-)
  8. Moved house recently so Kermit hasn't had much attention but he does have a brand new garage to reside in, which also has a high bay area where I have a car lift so working on him will be so much easier. The only thing I've done is put waterless antifreeze in him, which should help stop any pre-ignition . I guess I should get a trackday booked especially as my new car trailer has arrived :-)
  9. Altered the trigger disc spacer/holder so I can get a socket on the crank bolt to turn the engine over if necessary.
  10. Whilst down the garden center I found a plant pot which I thought I can use that : it fitted perfectly over my Jenvey air filter and with a few other bits you have a cold air induction system : Also put some Sierra air vents in the bonnet to let out the hot air from the radiator. Oh and filled the vent for the heater because Kermit doesn't have one so that was just creating drag.
  11. You may be right Tom but I quite like it how it is and it's already cost me a fortune in rattle cans and after all it is only a track car that I could easily crash next time out and have to start all over again.
  12. Well thank you sir. I took a bit of risk buying it but I'm fairly happy with it now. I'd never done fiberglassing before you see.
  13. Done a bit more. Bought this splitter from Czech but had to modify it quite a lot to get it how I wanted it. It's not quite finished but nearly there, just got the finish some brackets and some fibre glassing behind it, where you can't see. Hoping it will help the aerodynamics and also (with the ducting I've put it) the air to the radiator. I have some side skirts to fit as well and I'm gonna make a defuser for the back.
  14. Well done Jon. Paint colour is Carribean Green 5280 if that helps, should look better with a T cut and polish. The wheels are off a Silverline they are wider than normal. Just take the wiper off they are prone to packing up, stick a gromet in the hole though.
  15. It'll be better when I get the coffee table, settee and wall to wall carpet in there Tom
  16. Done a single wiper conversion, more for the fun of it really, I suppose it's a little lighter and more aerodynamic. I used a Citroen AX mechanism, which gives an angle of about 150 degrees. I incorporated the Ax mechanism with the original Favorit one.
  17. Done a bit more to Kermit over the winter i.e. got the roll cage in. Not quite finished it needs some gussets welding on, in places and perhaps some tubes to the front suspension struts. Also I welded in the rear strut brace.
  18. Oh yes Kermit always supprises people. A guy in a Skyliner couldn't believe it's a 1.3. He had 2.6ltrs producing 600bhp but his problem was getting off the line with all that horse power. Out of the 10 runs I won 5 . Kermit's quicker than my Octavia TDI that does it in about 16 seconds and is 155bhp with 310ftlbs of torque.
  19. Well Danny. Just been drag racing got a 14.74 which isn't my best (14.46) but the best I could manage today. I have no photo's as I was on my own but a chap called Matt that I met, who is on this forum, took some so hopefully he will post them or send them to me so I can post.
  20. The above snap was a Kenton one, thanks mate. And heres one of Steve's, cheers
