  1. Ideal got a bad name due to a their early attempts at condensing boilers, one called the isar was particually unreliable - I belive the new version of this is fine now. Ideal have been around for ages and thier older boilers are very well built and will go on and on and on. Boilers are the same as everything - you get what you pay for. If you get a quote for a particular boiler look it up on plumb centers website and compare the price to a Worcester Bosch or Vailant (another good make - German!) of similer power (KW rating). The installation charge for fitting a cheap or expensive combi should be the same. If you are having your boiler swapped, in addition to a proper flush of the system insist on a magna-clean to be fitted - they cost about £120 but can save you £££'s further down the line!! Worcester Bosch Greenstar boilers are excellent when installed properly and the heatexchangers (which were prone to internal leaking early on and cost nearly £400!!) now come with a very long warranty - at least 5 years I believe. I'd have a Worcester Bosch in my house anyday.
  2. I think I may have to go down the ipod route.... dont really want to though. So is there no way I can get an mp3 changer to work with the mfd2? Is there not an new alternative to the phatbox too?
  3. Reading another thread got me wondering about something.. I have just bought an MFD2 off ebay for my Octy, but must admit I am going to be a bit gutted to lose the MP3 features of the Stream.... so is it possible to get an MP3 changer for the boot which would be compatible and supply all the data - folder, artist, title etc??? Thanks in advance.
  4. no worries, but as mentioned before if it wasnt for Stu we'd be stuck with the crappy standard display!
  5. Hi Stu, Price is ok with me. 2.0 PD TDi MPH vRS Paypal ok when the time comes?
  6. Well, the last maxi dot GB was £190 so I would guess around there. Can those peole in the list confirm they are committed to going ahead with this then hopefully Stu will be able to get some prices and can take deposits off us if we're all happy.
  7. if you have an mfd2 do the sat nav directions show on the maxi dot?
  8. Those people interested and committed to going ahead with another Maxidot group buy please register your interest below. Stu will run the GB but has asked we sort out a list so he can get an idea of numbers and therefore prices. This Group Buy is not an offical BRISKODA orgainsed Group Buy and therefore BRISKODA, CANNOT be held responsible for any wrong doing that may occur. 1) 24v raddo - vRS TDi MPH
  9. I'll happily paypal you a deposit. You're obviously trustworthy and held in high regard around here so I'd have no problems with that, and I'm confident anyone else who is serious about being involved in the GB would do the same. Chris.
  10. Is there any likelyhood of another maxidot GB taking place? I'm very interested and have cash waiting. Thanks.
  11. Hello, Briskodians, I'm Chris from Bristol and I'm currently waiting on delivery of a Octavia vRS in race blue, I've got the free upgrade package, but will probably get the stealers to retro fit cruise control for me. I've been browsing the forum for a while now and already have some ideas for the car, like colour coded grille and an MFD2. I've always been into VW's but have recently been converted to Skoda's. Cheers, Chris.
