  1. Been in the same situation recently with O/S/R leaking door which was also approaching 12 months outside of warranty. E-mailed Skoda UK CS with the problem (and my disgust) and as previous responses say "they were totally unaware of the problem". Yeah, right! Anyway, to cut a long story short they agreed to refund the inspection charge (to confirm what the problem was) and the door was fixed. All done through goodwill - which is nice. Wasn't easy though, had to send dozens of e-mails and ended up arguing with the CS Manager after they tried going back on their word of a full refund. As they say, if you don't ask...........!
  2. If it's to do with the seal perishing, let Skoda CS know about it! Mines just come out of the garage after the same problem. Wrote to Skoda CS and they were totally unaware of the problem........Mmmmm, I smell something! Loads of discussions on here about it - if that's the problem anyway.
  3. There's loads about this on here. Got that confused about what it should be, contacted Skoda UK who said:- "Thank you for your e-mail regarding the cam belt for your ©koda Fabia vRS. I can confirm that the revised cam belt guidelines advise replacement every four years, regardless of vehicle mileage. The cam belt is a perishable item, subject to environmental wear and is serviceable only when a vehicle is fully serviced. These guidelines are in place to ensure the optimum running of the engine, taking into account the age of the vehicle and the wear and tear of the component. Replacement is a preventative measure and is entirely at your discretion. We revise guidelines regularly in order to offer the best service and most current and accurate information for our customers." April 2008.
  4. Ricko's look smart in the silver/navy nappa leather. http://briskoda.net/forums/fabia/just-messaged-seat-surgeons-leather/115727/?referrerid=35506 Not that sure about the silver door cards - probably opt for black personally. Still nice though. Look to do a top job at Seat Surgeons, well impressed. If only I had the cash!!!
  5. Lummox, would you say its more likely to be a problem with the 3 button remote then and not to do with the transponder in the footwell. The spare key works fine though?
  6. Thanks for that Td-eye. Where do you find what frequency the key fob is - is it in the manual or actually on the key fob itself? Can it be re-coded/re-programmed using the spare key as its only the 3 button transmitter (top part) being replaced (like for like) and not the immobiliser transmitter and key blade?
  7. Hi everyone, New to the site and could due with some help and advice. Own a Fabia VRS but started to have problems with the key remote (3 button flip key) starting last week, it wouldn't unlock/lock the doors by remote unless you are litterally standing next to the god damn door. I just thought it needed a new battery, so replaced it. No good though, still acting up. I've tried re-synchronising the key etc. like it says in the manual, but still nothing. Tried programing the key by using the spare key in the ignition while locking the doors manually etc. like it says on some of the threads. Still no good. You can still unlock the doors manually and there's no problem starting the car, its just a pain in the backside having to point the remote at the window everytime just to make sure the car locks. Anyone else had similar problems? I've got a feelin' its a another appointment at the local dealer :grumpy: Oh yeah, the spare key works absolutely fine. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Evening all, New to the site so just saying hello. I'm 27 and from the Midlands and now been a proud owner of Fabia VRS in Black Magic for just over 12 months. Great car (if not for a few niggles).
