Had full 4-wheel alignment (not just tracking) done on my Octi about a year ago. Cost just over £50, and made a bit of difference to how the car handled (stopped pulling to the left), although the guy doing it did say that there wasn't actually that many bits that could be adjusted - particularly on the rear.

Did they look like this: If so, then they were probably ANPR cameras (reading number plates to check for valid tax & insurance) and not speed cameras.

You guys that have taken, or are taking, advanced driving courses, how did you get on with the no brake/gear overlap aspect? This is the one thing that I am really struggling with. (To such an extent, I may cheat and use my Auto tranny Octi for the test.

17/19 but it would have been 16 if I hadn't known about the Spanish 'Broken down Citröen speed camera trick'

 Hello and Welcome Unfortunately, Government policy (i.e. Speed Cameras & vans everywhere) doesn't allow for 'discretion' or take into account driver skill & observation. Give me real coppers rather than automated roadside cash machines anyday.

The smallest mobile I've found are made by Maxon, either the MX-7922 or MX-C160. The problem is finding anywhere in the UK that actually has any in stock.

Any ex MKII MR2 owners here???
Puddenchucker replied to monkeychild's topic in General Automotive Chat
Owned a UK spec K reg GT. Quite possibly the best car I've ever owned - just needed a bit more poke and air-con. The early (non-cat) 158bhp cars were the fastest N/A versions but the later 154bhp (cat models) had revised suspension, 15" (instead of 14") wheels and power steering with a quicker rack and handled a lot better (early models were a bit prone to spinning). Later 173bhp models, again handled a smidge better, but were no quicker (in fact in the 'real world) they may have actually been a bit slower as all the power was way up the rev range - peak was at about 7000rpm IIRC. -
Whats missing under the boot carpet?

In other European countries there's a legal requirement to carry things like a first-aid kit, spare bulbs, warning triangle etc. and they would be in those empty pockets. -
MK I Octavia Reliability
Puddenchucker replied to cheezemonkhai's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
2.0 Auto, nearly 5yrs old, 32k miles Generally reliable but several niggly faults: Anti-roll bar bushes replaced Coolant Temp sensor replaced Exhaust bracket broken/corroded through Tracking never seems to stay set for long Rear electric window child-lockout not working And now the wipers have developed an ominous whining noise - probably the known spindle siezing issue. -
Hummer H1 - it serves no purpose what so ever outside of a war zone other than to make overpaid Premiership footballers look even bigger knobheads than they already are.

New Skyline GT Spotted in hotel carpark - pix

Nissan will be launching the Infiniti Brand in the UK & Europe within about 2 years. Infiniti is Nissans 'Prestige' brand in the USA. (Infiniti is to Nissan as Lexus is to Toyota). See here Autocar Nissan-Infiniti It's almost certain that the G35 (aka Skyline) coupe will be one of the models officially available. Whether or not the GT-R version will be one of those isn't yet known. -

I know of a guy who had a similar clutch failure on a 350Z. He drove into a car-park, with the clutch working fine, parked-up and went shopping, came back a while later and couldn't engage a gear. The clutch had just expired and, as it transpired, he also needed a new flywheel as well. This was at about 20k miles. Don't know if it makes any difference to the mode of failure (and lack of warning signs), but this was a dual mass flywheel. Does the vRS have a dual mass flywheel?

I can understand your sentiment on this, but where do you, or anyone else, draw the line on what form of law-breaking you consider worthy of reporting and what not? Untaxed car? Fly-tipping building waste? Somebody breaking into your neighbours house? If everyone had the apathetic attitude of, 'It's the Police's job' everytime they noticed a law being broken or something suspicious you'd soon end up with anarchy.
