  1. I always thought there was a bit missing on mine? havent been to any scrappy's to compare lol, haven't been to bothered about it tbh

Just had warning light come on on way to work, dont have manual in the car and always like to know before just driving on. its a orange round circle with 3 dash's each side in the centre square not in the speedo part? guessing brake pads low or fluid low? or brake bulb gone? as handbrake light is same round circle?
  3. I think in a straight line in good conditions where grip not an issue anything 4x4 will lose some power because of all the transmission parts?? so 180bhp/215bhp might be comparable?
  4. Ah! problem with just searching and trying to browse on the sly at work! :-) ah well seemed to drive ok when got in at lunch time! see what vag com says tonight!

This sounds very similiar to what mine has done this morning! except i havent turned it back on yet as was late for work! and as you say above I normally drive not really revving it above 3/4k but did have a little spirited drive last night, so maybe thats moved some crud! I will plug it in vag com tonight, but good excuse to rev a bit more lol
  6. intermittant is becoming a bit more frequent so just gonne get one today! dealership said always has them on the shelf, and i cant afford to swap all four for bolt downs this month! especially as my turbo didnt seem to be working this morning, drove ok, just no turbo kick, and obviously down on power, no warning lights or anything so some more forum searching for ideas and VAG COM when I get home I guess!
  7. erm, if that yellow one is number 2 then it has failed - intermittant but fail all the same!
  8. Thanks, got one on order, the part number on my weird yellow one is a vw/audi part but I couldnt find on google that it is suitable for 1.8T so bit worrying! I'm not very far from dealer so just take them as they come I think! this one in only intermittant so will keep it as a potential "get me home" part

I have diagnosed coil pack no2 faulty from vag com, when I pop the bonnet to have a look the one i think is number 2 is different, yellow top and bolted down? i have heard people talk about bolt down coil packs? does this mean this has been changed before, i guess maybe it had one from scrappy instead of new and thats why its gone again? can I check they are numbered left to right as you open bonnet? Warning light came on on my 01 Octy VRS, was second Lambda sensor, and when got underneath the wires looked like had been cut and joined before where wires got a bit scorched near exhaust, but had frayed and were only just n just connected still, so swapped this last night. now i have driven about 10/15 miles. it drives perfectly, but it did before too? will the light go off if this was the problem? or does it need to be reset with Vag com? Allan
  12. I'd say 50 quid is just the wheel well, maybe inner boot, definately not a door skins job JL is a good brand, bit common for my liking, but it is good and common for a reason! not heard/seen the 12"'ers but cant see any reason why they would be bad!
  13. Hi all, i know there are lots of threads but i am finding it hard to figure out which one fits me! my wipers started going a bit crazy not turning off a couple of months ago. I pulled out the relay, left it, put it back in and all seemed ok. but they have started going funny again. they come on randomly, normally after i have to use them they come on and stay on, but do stop part way across screen, then will randomly start moving etc etc. which made me think it is the spindles problem and they need greasing. I am going to unplug rear wiper this afternoon just to toally rule that out, but i dont think it is to do with that, putting rear one on doesnt seem to have any effect on fronts and it behaves normally? the only reason i am not sure if it is the spindles is that when i started car this morning the wipers were parked ok last nigth but as soon as i turned the key they started going? and the whole pull the relay, put back in seemed to fix it before? what do you guys think? i am due an MOT by 6th July so need to crack on and sort this weekend, I am workign today but going to try and go to scrappy and see if i can find something to pull a relay out of? do you know what other models have the same 377 relay? passat? bora? etc?   14. Ah the other thing is the wipers come on but seem to stay on most of the time, woudl it still pass the mot? lol Allan

My MOT is due in the next two weeks. couple of questions, my exhayst is blowing right on the tip, where the two pipes join onto the VRS oval? it doesnt actually look corroded, just looks a bit like there has always been a gap there where the joint it? my brother thought if its a certain distance from the engine/from the tailpipe it doesnt matter? also my Wipers started having mind of their own couple of months ago, looked on here, pulled the relay, left it, back in and were perfect. sods law just before mot they are going mental again, pulled relay and back in and didnt help this time, can i douse it in WD40 as contact cleaner or something? is Skoda best place for new one? looked on eBay and 2nd hand ones from about £13 quid to £20 but only giving up to 90 days warranty?
