VRS is not the slickest sproty hatchback box I have ever used, but it does the job. No notches on mine , so I guess yours has a fault. I had an intermittant 'knocking' problem on my VRS. Four times the garage said they couldn't find the fault. In the end I took the dealer for a little drive until the fault occured. Perhaps you should take you dealer for a little drive in the country?

Checked out a website through Mytres called tyretest.com. Pirelli p zero nero came out best of all. I have just had goodyear eagle f1 on the front. Fantastic grip, especially if you increase tyre pressure to 2.5 bar. However , they lasted around 10, 000 miles!!

Dont forget to clean your Green Filters!!
FunkySi replied to HellFire's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I have noticed a drop off in performance when the filter is dirty. Around every 5k or so. I live in Bristol and do a fair amount of motorway miles, so I guess the filter gets bunged up fairly frequently. Always a jump in performance after cleaning. Promts me to check the fluid levels, tyre pressures, hoover! I give the filter a few bangs on the floor, then a quick flick with a soft brush, then use fairy and that pink oxy stuff, then rinse. -

New Euro IV engines for Fabia when?
FunkySi replied to skodakid's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I'm talking about ringing up myself and making sure they have the correct information because the last time I ended up leaving it to chance, I had to pay two years back tax in minus three months. Simple really. I always ring the tax office with any change in my circumstances now and to be fair to the little loves , if I leave a message , they call me back. -
Must admit I have found it hard to feel sorry for the overweight, dubya, gun totin', rootin tootin yanks in Noo Orleens. Serves them bloody right. Can't believe it, but thats how I feel watching events unfold. And I'm a doo-gooder! But as ever, its the poor who really suffer. And I have to say, I do feel really sorry for them. Dubya has always been a bit of a winker, but how does he look now? The mighty empire always falls. Maybe this is the beginning of the end?

Williams SKoda, St Phillips , Bristol. To be honest I have had endless problems with my car from new, so I'm not impressed with my dealer already. Now I find out they have been feeding me porky pies!!! I love my little car, but it is beginning to feel like the Alfa I once had, a couple of thrills then bits fall off/break off!!!! -

As far as I'm aware my 54 plate VRS is euro iv compliant. Tax man seems to think so, which is fine by me!! -

Is there a definite service interval for the VRS?
FunkySi replied to BartSimpson's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Blimey! I'm gonna have to ring my dealer tomorrow. I'm reasonably certain my VRS is on variable servicing. Will be in touch. -

FunkySi replied to BartSimpson's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
As far as I am aware my 54 plate VRS IS on variable servicing. Light came on after 16k for 1st service as it had had a couple of top ups on the oil. Has done 26k now. There seems to be some firm opinion in the thread that the VRS is not a car that should be on variable servicing??? Would appreciate a little clarity from a man who knows... -
I have found that e-mail or phone calls are dealt with swiftly. Would be sensible to give them a call. E-mail replys are usually same day.

Sure Jimmy. I apologise unresevervedly for suggesting you are immature. Clearly, it is not a nice remark to level at anyone. I am an 'immature do-gooder' in your opinion. I am an individual, therefore your remark was levelled at me. I consider your opinion offensive. I just happen to hold a different opinion to you.
