Ok, had my VRS for about 3-4 months, Ive noticed, if I am driving at night, with the lights on, and go to main beam (stalk forward), the main beam lights come on, but the regular lights dim/off? however, if I am driving along, lights on, and I flash somebody, or just pull the stalk back, then main beam ligths come on, AND the normal lights stay on? is this normal? thanks. I was under the impression that the 150bhp golf and 180bhp TT use a different block and slightly altered and stronger internals? and we all have the 180bhp TT engine. Andrew

Wind your drivers window down just a touch, you will hear the air comes out of the vents quicker, and will demist the window slightly faster. Andrew

The Bonnet vent on the WRC Subaru's is actually blanked off, they have it there because the Raod cars have it,and for marketing reasons. They have front mounted intercoolers on the rally cars, they get more' ram' effect from the air in front of the car. Andrew

after much running around, and the Skoda paint expert coming round, its booked in, 1 month after I first reported it!! Luckily Skoda are covering my insurance on the loan car, and it should all be done today!

Having just sold a Golf to get my Octy, I found that the golf rattles! and suffers from general poor build quality, the Octavia is 4k less, is faster, handles better, brakes better, has better standard equipement, is a bigger car, bigger wheels. Golfs suck! Andrew

OK, as above, went to Skoda (15miles) told me to go to VW bodyshop(4 more miles), took estimate told me to go back to skoda with paperwork, then trip home (19miles). Waited a week, got a phone call, now Skoda want it 'inspecting' by an independent paint expert, (this is after , A) Mechanic Service manager c) od shop man at Reg Vardy's all looked and said RUST) so another trip BACK to the dealers, (30miles round) Total wait so far - 1week Total Miles so far - 68 miles and its still rusty! just been to my local dealer, then was told to take it to the local VW garage,as thats where the paint will be done. Will post a pic before I take it in. Thought I'd got rid of VW out of my life when I sold the Golf! Ah well. Andrew

Got an 18month old VRS from my local dealer, its got 3600 miles on it. I noticed the other day a spot , now this is not good, the car has never had a bump, and on very close inspection, never had any paint on it. Andrew

I just got a VRS, an 03 , did my first drive this weekend, 300 mile round trip, mostly motorway, 36mpg ! way happy. That was not trying to be economical! Andrew.

I just got my Octavia VRS, so far way impressed with the comfort and speed, among other things! BUT- I think I'll get the carpet dirty, has anybody found a solution to stop the bit near the Accelerator pedal getting dirty? I seem to rest my foot there at junctions, My golf had a black palstic guard there. any ideas? thanks, Andrew (oh and its an 03 if that means anything)
