  1. We will be at Houx annexe from Wednesday afternoon , i wont be in the Octy though . Keep an eye out for a 1978 Black and silver Corvette Indy pace car parked up with a couple of A4's , Sunny Gti R and a Honda s2000 . Come and say hello , we will have a beer waiting for you in our new Ice box which holds 110 cans:D :D
  2. Just spoke to my mate with the Corvette and amazingly , it looks like we might have got onto the official pre race parade !!!! He's been in contact with some French bloke who has a big tie in with GM Europe and they were looking for Corvettes as part of the parade - so keep an eye out for a Black and Silver Indy Pace Car . And if I see any BRISKODA stickers on my walkabouts , I'll be sure to say Hi . Likewise , if you see the 'Vette - come and have a beer with us .
  3. First time for me as well but my mates went last year . 10 of us in total . Got a Wednesday lunchtime crossing and we booked through Team L'angoustine and are stopping with them at Houx Annexxe ( on the inside of Tetra Rouge I think ) For anyone who booked thru them , they lay on a BBQ , bar and satellite tv for the Footy !!!! Im not going in the Octy vrs though , but I am the passenger in my mates 1978 Corvette ( Indy 500 Pace Car model ) So i will be deaf by Dover.........
  4. Just swopped the Fabia vrs for an Octavia vrs ! My first impressions ( 100 miles ) are great , certainly a much quieter drive at lower speeds although i think the furby was quieter at motorway speeds ( 6th gear obviously helping) I went for a Yellow one in the end and am so glad i did - especially as the sun shone yesterday ! Just adjusting my driving style now , as i was used to just putting my foot down in any gear in the furby . The octavia needs to be worked a little harder IMO , but you get great rewards for effort :D I have even managed 34mpg over the first 100 miles !!! Just glad i dont regret swopping - although it looks like SWMBO might be getting a furby vrs later in the year.....perfect.
  5. For those interested in visiting Curborough sprint course , this is how close you can get to the action ( need some vrs action on track:) )
  6. Ok , so its only parked up outside Craner curves Hopefully you can all see the photo as its the first time i've tried to add a piccy .
  7. Thanks all ! Went for a test drive in it yesterday and already noticed more people staring - mind you , it did look good in the sunshine:) If i have it , i think a set of dark/graphite colour alloys are whats needed like Leeboys - that looks soooooooo nice !!!!
  8. Does anybody here live close to Curborough sprint course , nr Lichfield , Staffs ? For those that dont know , Curborough is a sprint course run by Shenstone and district car club and there is usually something on there most weekends in the summer . It is a great track , fantastic if you are into motorsport photography like me as you can get right up close to the action and its usually free !!!! :) I usually pop down most Sundays to see whats happening - but have never seen another vrs there :(
  9. First of all , let me apologise for not posting for ages . I've been dropping in to have a nose around but seeing as my Furby VRS has had no problems for the last year , then I've pretty much kept quiet . But the time has come for a change . I love the Furby but just fancy going back to petrol again . This is where I need your help - I might be going to have a look at an Octy vrs tomorrow but there is one potential problem - its yellow . :Yikes: No offence to yellow Octy drivers but I just cant decide whether I like the colour or not . i know i like the Octy having driven a couple so its definitely the next car for me . Opinions about yellow Octys please ..........
  10. Could be your convenience control unit ( controls c/locking ) . Just had to have mine replaced as my alarm was doing exactly the same . My intermittent wipers were working but it turned out the bonnet switch was broken as well ( me shutting the bonnet the wrong way ?? )
  11. Picked up the Octy WRC (monte carlo 2003) from the toy fayre at the NEC a few weeks ago - got it for a tenner Some of the stalls still sell them for £30 , but there a couple who do them for £10-£15 . Actually a good day out at Toy fayre - some memories came flooding back . Why the hell did i used to smash my matchbox cars around so much ? :( I think there's another one at NEC at the start of December , certainly worth a look - some rare models there !!
  12. Does anyone know where i can get my hands on a 1/43rd scale Furby WRC ? I collect IXO models as i personally think they are the most realistic but if anyone knows of another manufacturer who makes a quality 1/43rd Furby , i would love to know. I already have the IXO Octavia WRC ( Monte Carlo 2003 spec ) and the detail is incredible ! I wonder why my wife thinks im a big kid ?
  13. Picked up my new fabvrs yesterday afternoon Only done 100 miles so far ( work etc ) but loved every single one Going for a nice long drive tonight , dont know where yet  Must say feels very well screwed together , apart from gearlever makes rattling noise in neutral ? Will give it a few hundred miles to see if it goes away . Im sure there will be other little new noises that gradually fade . How often are you other fabvrs owners having to top up with oil and is it best to buy from Skoda themselves or just get the equivalent from Halfords ? What rating is the oil ? Just off outside to look at my new toy
