  1. Congrats Daiking, I bought the E-P3 a while back as a small light weight cam for street photography. I find it perfect for this application with it's snappy auto focus. The touch screen is a revelation, especially the ability to select a focus point just by touching the screen. Image quality is pretty good and while it can't match my Nikon SLR it's not terribly far behind. I'd certainly recommend one as an upgrade from a point and shoot though the size and weight might surprise some people. Have you had a look at the Olympus 45mm f1.8 lens? although quite a long focal length on micro four thirds (90mm), it makes a great portrait lens. 6. Nice one Dave Strap it on and show us some pics.
  7. I can relate Xav. I went to Duxford last weekend. I took the 300/4 + 70-200 + 24-70 and a couple of smaller primes, add to that the MBD10 on the D700 and my back was in bits by the end of the day :'( Annoying thing was I didn't even use the 70-200 or 24-70. I'm going to have to start going a little lighter in future. I'm getting too old That's a lovely image

  13. Pick up a used Nikon D40 with an 18-55mm lens and a Nikon SB400 flash. It's all you'll need. Sure, it's a DSLR, but it's very small and very light. Get your self a little bag and you have a go anywhere kit. If you want to add another lens later on grab a 55-200mm and you really are all set. Example (not my sale): http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nikon-D40-6-1-Megapixel-Digital-Camera-18-55mm-/280643198164?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto_DigitalCameras_DigitalCameras_JN&hash=item4157a35cd4 Review: http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d40.htm
  14. http://www.oloneo.com/ Should use multi exposures but I quite liked the look from one. There is a free trial that runs to Feb i think, give it a try.
  15. Thanks John, They were Jpegs. I haven't tried Raw yet, I keep meaning to have a go with Raw files now that I have the software to open them.
  16. First time using HDR software. There is no image overlay using different exposures, these were created using one image only. 17. Very cute. Are they keeping them all? I couldn't bring myself to give them away :'(
  18. Thanks for the comments, I had to laugh at the 50mm soldiers I need to put a bit more thought into the thread titles Loving this lens at the moment, it's managed to push the more expensive stuff to the back of my bag. I have a new found interest in 50mm since going full frame. I was about to pick up a Nikon 85mm 1.4 D but now I'm thinking about the Sigma 85mm 1.4 which is available anytime soon. A few more from the 50 while I'm here. Still no flash, Exif intact if anyone is interested. Two from it's fist outing at a wedding reception. Real people this time and taller than 50mm
  19. There should be a law against locking lenses away Dust that fifty off & take it for a spin.
  20. Testing the Sigma 50mm f1.4 @ Duxford. This was only it's second outing. Available light only, no flash. Anyone considering a fast 50 for their DSLR should seriously try one of these. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.
  21. For sale is my Nikon D300 Body. The camera is around two years old now and therefore has no warranty left. Originally purchased from Warehouse Express for £950. I've loved this camera since the day I bought it. Doing a member search on here will throw up plenty of images I've taken with this camera. I've just upgraded to the D700 but I am still sad to see this one go, I wish I could hang on to it but I just can't justify doing so. The body is in very good condition, I've had a good look around it and I can't find any damage at all. There is some slight wear to the rubber grip and the rubber door which covers the USB socket is a bit of a fiddle to close. It's a waterproof type rubber door which needs to be squeezed into a groove to make it seal. Over the years it's got a little harder to do. It's really not a big deal but I thought I'd mention it. The camera has had the Nikon screen protector on since new. The screen protector has some fine surface scratches on it but the screen itself is scratch free. The strap has some signs of wear, to be expected after two years. There are 90,000 actuations on this body. Nikon rate the D300 shutter at 150,000 so still plenty of life left before it needs a new shutter. This sale includes the original box with all leads, battery and wall charger. There is no memory card included. Now on E-Bay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250702719798&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT Also for sale is my Nikon 10.5mm f2.8 Fisheye Lens. I bought this used on E-Bay last year for £450.00 The lens is in perfect condition, there are no marks on the glass or the body. Sale includes original box. Selling for £519 in Warehouse express > http://www.warehouseexpress.com/buy-nikon-10-5mm-f2-8-g-if-ed-af-dx-fisheye-lens/p12887 Also on E-Bay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250702673584&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
  22. I'm pleased with the images but I'm tempted to upgrade already. I'm looking at the E-P2 for the electronic view finder. That Sony does look very good. I've seen a fair few images from the Nex 5 and they look really good. I'm sure nikon will have something out soon, as you say there have been a couple of patents passed already and the drawings that went with them look very promising. There is a market here, hopefully more of the big guns will go down the micro path. The Samsung NX100 is another interesting option not to mention Sony's A55.
