You should be able to get the coding changed for the control unit a lot of the airbag control units are the same its just the code that dictates the equipment recognised by the control unit if you know someone with vagcom they should be able to do it i can find out the correct coding if you like!!!

Need to source one ASAP i have a 06 vrs with a BLT engine any ideas where the best place to get one at a reasonable price!!! Toying with the idea of a upgrade what is the best way forward, Shes gonna have to use my octavia vrs in the mean time i am worried for its saftey!!!!
  17. It's not a compression it is a fluid that picks up exhast gasses in the cooling system pretty much all garages use it !
  18. Get someone to put a block test on it that will tell you if the head gasket has gone the chemical will put up any exhaust gases in the cooling system, if you are using coolant rather than loosing it and the oil is clean and you have no leaks this test will pick up the problem might take a few mins or could take 15 to 20 mins but will let you know where you stand!!!!! Let me know how you get on :-)
  19. To stop you getting crap on your clothes just clean the dirt from the top runner, ie "the adjustable bit" thats what they do at a dealer will fix the problem for sure!!!
  20. Looking good alex !!!!! what hp is it running?
  21. Hi guys a am a skoda master tech that used to work for one of the above (not mentioning any names) i am now working for a independant garage in Hardwick just outside Cambridge we would be happy to attend to your needs at a very reasonable price!!! pm me:thumbup:
  22. You could well have a fault compressor this is pretty common for the octavia II i have changed loads of these under warranty get it into your local dealer they should be able to sort it for you!!! You could take a look your self to confim the fault look at the compressor pulley with the engine running make sure the center of the pulley is rotating and not just the outside as it has a shear pulley on it as the compressor runs all the time so the shear pulley stops it from wrecking the belt when the compressor siezes which they do frequently!!!!!!!!
  23. You should be able to get that split plasic welded and resprayed would look like new we have a bodyshop where i work you would be amazed what can be repaired these days!!! Roadkill seams to be getting rockhard these days we had a golf in that had hit a badger it mullered the front end and cracked the gearbox casing!!!!!!!!!! must have had a crash helmet on or something!!
  24. Just buy it and enjoy, mine is pretty much the same spec as that and coming up to 140k now!!!!!! still sweet as a nut!!!
  25. Don't get a 1.4 16v they are pony!!!!!!!!!! Diesal all the way i think as power is your issue that rules out the 1.2!!!lol
