If I have to I will it’s just annoying as the car has only done 68k. wonder how much a new one is from TPS so it match the colour? Painted some before when had new callipers but it’s never quite the same as never lasts as long

Any one else had a sticking hand brake on one calliper? Car has been used a bit over lock down, not every day but at least once a week or so, car was used on Sat for about 100 miles in total, then today the bloody passenger side calliper is sticking. Handbrake didn’t fully release (no light but still had a few mm travel when off) drove it for couple of mins and returned home, passenger side was warm... jacked up, and yep not releasing all the way. I have bathed it in WD and wiggled it back and forth like mad! It now releases ok... but if you put the hand brake on then let it off it sort of releases and drags a little but if you give the leaver on the calliper a tap even though it’s on the stop it seems to release a touch more and be 100% free... I am tempted to try winding the calliper off and restting it? Any other ideas?

Not updated this for a year, been busy on other things. Not much has changed though. Aero roof bars and top box for holidays, and a private plate as a gift but that’s about it for now, just been busy chopping the miles and being a brilliant family wagon with kids, GF and dog in the boot.

yeah all the OEM led options will need coding, easy enough to do if you have VCDS or some one local-ish with it. The after market lamps which have the resistors built in always look pants with really bad beam pattern, this are a really nice even light.

The part number has a A on the end, just ordered one for tomorrow less than. £5 on my account which is a bonus! Also ordered a mini USB extension lead so I don’t have to faff re routing the connector from the front camera to the rear,

I’m the same I have factory tint buts it’s not dark so the car shades make things better. ill speak to TPS about another bellows. Don’t suppose you know the part number do you? Just makes things easier. how hard was the rear trim to get off?

Where have folks mounted their rear dash cams? I have run the wire all the way to the rear, but the plug wouldn’t fit though the connector bellows to the hatch annoyingly, so it is just run along the boot seal now. i am tempted to try some really strong magnets and attach it to the head lining at the top of the boot opening (I did stick it there but it started to sag pretty quick). any other ideas? Just to make it more of a pain I have car shades fitted and from playing if the camera is too close it just sees the mesh if it’s further back it can see through it, but if I can find a good mounting location then I can always mod the shades if needed so the camera can see through it.

How do I remove the buttons near the gear stick?? My older cars it was easy to remove the trim but all the stuff near the gear stick seems well screwed in! I want to remove the coin tray too and again that’s welded in it seems!!

Really helpful thanks, looks like an Oe retrofit is the best option then. Wouldnt mind the fl screen but if I can get a mib2 unit pre fl that’s all there ready to go job done.

I had discounted the OE head unit tbh as when I was looking before it was a case of no one could activate them as it couldn’t be done with VCdS? If if I can fit a normal factory Nav for not silly money I will happily. id love the later screen and virtual cockpit but tbh I plan on only keeping this one for another year or maybe two before going to a petrol VRs and poss biting the bullet and getting a FL one with the toys I want. so how hard is the Oe head Unit? And the same for a MIb2 unit as MIb1? Or it it easier to just fit a MIb1? finally what else is needed? Screen unit and the head unit in the glove box, anything else? Or is it plug and play provided it can be coded? (I have gps in there already from the GVN unit)

I currently have a 2013 MIB1 unit with Kenwood GVN60 sat nav, but I am considering a change to a new all in 1 unit so I have better ability to update the Nav, and better function with phone etc. So what are my options? any recommendations? don't mind spending a few quid so long as it will be supported in terms of map updates etc long term, Cheers

Is there a description anywhere of what each mode actually does? I know it says it alters where the light is but an idiots guide would be good. Can’t say I have noticed any change in mine when it’s raining, I did re aim mine though as from the factory they were a little low.

Ahhh didn’t even think of looking under there I just assumed it would be the normal open multiple settings in German affair like setting HBA etc, cheers for that I’ll sort that out later on as it’s doing my head in on country lanes where I’m under 30 or so but it’s unlit so I still want to be able to see what’s down the road not in the hedge!

Does anyone know where I can find the instructions on disabling city mode via VCDS? I still want the other modes just not the wonky city mode, Cheers
