  1. Such a clonking that your experience can be caused by nackerd/worn console bushes, get them checked before having a go at the Mech
  2. Keep the fabia nd mod the girl! Although the s3 maybe nice etc nd initially is faster etc, youd be amazed at the difference some mods to the fabia will make to the fabia, may not necasarily be faster 0-60 but cmon who does 0-60 on the roads these days? all you need is rolling start performance? and theres not much out there that does it better than a modded fabia, even handling wise, get yourself a Rear anti-roll bar nd some sorted suspension nd you will be flying the corners, Lets not forget the economy you get from the fabia? you could get yourself running the same amount of BHP as the S3 and a hek of load more torque! and still be getting much better MPG form the fabia? nd then at the end of the day you get to see that "I have changed and customised that car to how i want it! yet its still cheaper to run and cost me cheaper in the long run than it would have to get a petrol powered equally fast car" Plus the fabia is an awesome sleeper car! noone expects a diesel skoda to be that fast!, especially when re-mapped + more etc etc :-P
  3. Ah rite thanks for all the replies guys, it doesnt need to be vag-com, just put that as i thort its the only thing u can adjust stuff on the car wtih :-s Sherlock how much would you charge to increase the engine tickover on a Fabia VRS? cheers :-)
  4. Big sorry to you guys! my mistake i shulda put "Idle Revs" lmao, im looking to increase the idle rpm lol. Thanks for the replies none the less lol. (original post now edited to say idle rpm) lol
  5. Hey guys, does anyone here have the ability to increase the engine idle RPM on a Fabia VRS using VAG-COM? Cheers and how much will it cost nd where you located? :-) cheers guys.
  6. Hey guys, can some1 tell me the exact size of speaker needed (including depth or magnet type) to fit in the front doors of a 2003 Skoda Fabia VRS, Cheers in advance, also any recomendations on a good set for less the £40? cheers all.
  7. Cheers for all the replies guys i had 6 x 1L bottle of castrol edge turbo diesel here that i bought from Opie Oils (under the recomended products for your car bit) a while ago so have used one of the bottles for topping up wats already in the car until i do the oil and filter service on it. Thanks once agen to all, much appreciated.
  8. Hey guys, ive got a 2003 Fabia VRS and the oil is on minimum, but i cant find any small jacks of the same oil i used to fill it up, but i am able to get oil that is the same type (5w-40 fullysynthetic) in a small jack, seen as they are both the same type of oil is it ok to top it up with a different make, i.e. top up Carplan tripple r with Castrol Edge? as they are both fully synthetic 5w-40? cheers guys.
  9. As you were saying? Brake Caliper Carrier 312mm Conversion Mk4 (Pair)
  10. Jabbasport supply a 312mm Carrier which you can use on the existing 288mm brakes on the Furby VRS, all you need then is 312mm discs and vwallah, you have your 288mm calipers and pads on 312mm discs.
  11. Yeah that howl will allways be there when in higher gears such as 5th and 6th, not quite sure what causes it but the guy at Jabbasport said to expect it and its normal.
  12. For anyone whos had the priveledge to take a Type-r round the track or to even compare to the other two cars, you will come to realise that for all out fun the Type-r wins, although it has a lack of torque, its sheer mentalness more than make up for it, all it takes is a good driver to keep the type-r in its power band (just the same as a bike) and the lack of torque will soon be forgotten (although i must say i am a torque man due to my relaxed driving style) any driver looking for summer weekend fun should get the type-r over the other 2, check out the nurburgring lap times the Type-r anhilates both, and the ST is too subdued for what it is to really bring a grin to your face. Although with the Type-r, Hit V-TEC and you will be grinning from ear to ear whilst listening to the mental sound of the 2.0L VTEC Engine and flying through the corners as if they were not even there. (as for the comment on the new RS, its a bit lame really isnt it, not the comment the car, 300BHP and loads of trick bits which sound great yeah, well this is 2009, the good old Escort Cosworth was quicker than the new Focus RS and it only had 230BHP, an Impreza is also faster and cheaper.)
  13. over-fueling wont damage the turbo, however over-boosting will.
  14. That looks like quite a radical torque spike too, you should look at trying to get that smoothed out slightly too as it could mean youll be due a new clutch before long too.
  15. Could perhaps just be that particular stretch of road?
  16. Coming as a recomendation straight from Jabbasport, they recomended using the existing 288mm setup and buy new Discs with Uprated pads, as it keeps the costs down and improves you braking performance and gives more bite, it would also be a good idea to change your brake fluid to and use an uprated high performance fluid that has a higher boiling point, as once brake fluid has boiled its performance properies are greatly reduced so its a good idea to get fluid with the highest boiling point you can find.
  17. Mine is a 53-Plate with 73K on the clock and "Touch Wood" the only problems it has had are Leaking rear door seals and had to replace the Console Bushes. "Touch Wood"
  18. Just get your interim service along with a Fuel Filter as the VRS Fabia doesnth ave spark plugs due to it being a diesel and instead uses glow plugs.
  19. One of the mods hes listed on his Octy VRS is a Jumbo Box, wich i assumer is a tuning box? so going from a basically Remapped octy to a standard SE, no it wont feel quciker, probably will feel similar but all he needs to do then is Remap the Fabia and it will feel much quicker than the octy and in-gear acceleration i.e 30-70 in 3rd it will be quicker too. plus the look the muts nuts!!!
  20. Apparently you get quite an annoying tick, tick, tick, tick noise when fitting drilled/grooved discs cause by the grooves and hooles passing over the pad, and they also where your pads down much quicker too apparently, its advisable to just use stard discs with uprated pads, tis cheaper too, and also do a brake fluid change with some high performance fluid that has a higher boiling point.
  21. The turbo will fit straight on it will just need rotating slightly, in order to get more power from it you will need to get the car re-mapped again to take advantage of it, Also a FMIC will free up alot more power although isnt essential.
  22. Jabbasport should supply and fit the sachs clutch and SMF for around £1k unless their prices have sky-rocketed in which case, tell em your from here and that you know other people who have had the work carried out for £1k
  23. If you arent a hardcore track day enthusiast its not necesaru to fit the 312mm brakes or drilled/grooved discs etc but a good upgrade to give you better brake feel and better braking is to use standard discs and a set of uprated pads. heard bad reviews on the EBC stuff, however have heard good reviews on the likes of Mintex Extreme and Ferodo DS2500
  24. Are they fitting it or are you fitting it yourself? Just an idea but whilst your at it if your doing it yourself, change your gearbox oil too whilst youve got everything outa the way.
  25. I believe the mean Leon splitter lol, its taken from the Seat Leon Cupra R.
