  1. Happened to my wife’s Citigroup today. Earth strap snapped at the end. Initially thought it was a duff battery. Seems these earth straps are not really man enough.
  2. All fixed now. An excellent job by Mastertech in Poole. Relay was OK. Ignition switch had failed. Yet again! A common fault on VAG cars apparently. They replaced two Audi switches the same day they did mine. Cost £225 parts and labour.
  3. Happend to our 2015 Citigo for the third time. Previous problems were fixed under warranty. First time new ignition lock. Second time new relay. Westover couldn’t look at it for three weeks as out of warranty!!!! Local auto electrician coming round on Monday. It is a shame this recurring problem has soured my view of Skoda reliability. We certainly never get these repeat problems with our Jazz.......
  4. Fixed. New selector cable, leak not from gearbox, probably just something splashed up. All OK now and normal service has been resumed.
  5. Our Citigo has started getting gearbox problems today. Trouble engaging reverse particularly. There appears to be a fluid leak from the gearbox too. Taking it to glorious Westover in Bournemouth on Monday.....
  6. Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for any other electrical gremlins that may be battery related......
  7. Most new cars have service history held online now. No more stamps.
  8. Its a brand new car - battery was checked and is fine. Most likely cause is the key fob reciever apparently - not an unheard of problem according to the Skoda engineer.
  9. Almost brand new batteries - the Skoda technician checked and it was not the batteries. Also highly unlikely that three batteries would fail simultaneously in three keys.
  10. Well its done it again! Skoda Assist say if it happens a third time it needs to go to the dealer to have the ignition lock receiver replaced. While he was at it he updated the ABS software and Power Steering software too.

  12. No, we have had three keys ( three main drivers) for a while now without any problems..... it was a bit bizarre I have to say.
  13. I went to start our Citigo this morning and it would not start - the epc light was on and the immobiliser was preventing ignition. I tried another key and the car started fine but the epc light stayed on. Halfway to work the car went into safe mode and restricted engine revs. I pulled over, tried the previous key and it started this time....and after a mile or so it too went into safe mode. I managed to limp into work and called Skoda Assist. The engineer was very helpful - he noticed we have three keys registered to the car ( we do ) He also said that there was a record of the keys being re-programmed previously ( probably to match the two std keys with the third key) He managed to re-programme the two keys and they both now work fine. He told me not to even carry the third key in the car until we have called Skoda Assist out again to re-programme all three keys to match. When I asked if this is a common fault he just grinned and said I'm not allowed to comment. Anyone else had key trouble?
  14. I wonder how much spilled out when you went round the first corner....
  15. Our Citigo ( 2,000 miles now) snicks between gears in a delightful fashion, and always has.
