  4. Hi people. Im currently running through my head the chance to upgrade my 07 Fabia VRS for a brand new Octy VRS TDi Hatch. My first dilema is colour. Do I have the balls to get White or do I opt for Blue? Also what options are a must? Maxidot, Xenons......... I prefer the look of the standard seats over the leather too. Opinions please
  5. Cheers Ken you got me I do now and again "drive" my car around roundabouts for a thrill. Not very often as I`ve only had this car whilst my missus has been pregnant and now my little`n rides in the back with her. But booked in for 2 new tyers and 4 wheel align for £120 all in. Had to go for cheap tyres unfortunatly due to the pitter patter of a little drain on my resources
  6. I`m confused now reading this thread. My Fabia has just hads its annual service and I had advisorys on my wheel alignment as my tyres are wearing on the outside quite badly. I need rear tyres urgently but will a basic £26 electronic alignment do the job and solve the wear? I have only just lowered the car onto Eibach pro springs and to be honest getting it aligned didnt cross my mind.
  7.:rofl: Just realised how that must have read Deffo miss the car more than the ex!!
  8. Me and the wife bought it 2 years ago and then she left me for another guy. I prised the car off her before she rinsed me for every penny I owe and then I couldnt afford to run it. (had it during the 1.20p a litre petrol period!) Was a fantastic car, shame the experience was tarnished by the ex I miss her :(

  10. I picked up a set of Eibach Pro springs on the free ads for £20 Can you price match that LOL
  11. "Diffusergate Diffused" that would be my back page headline if there was any F1 coverage in the papers this year. Glad to see innovation isnt penalised. The other teams nead to book their ideas up instead of whinging to the appeals court. Would be funny to see the offset of costs eg - The value of legal costs and research to make a case agaisnt the "Double decker diffuser" v The cost of researching and designing a "Double decker diffuser" :P:rofl:
  12. I spent half the day sanding the crome down and then applied 2 coats of prima, 3 coats of black and 4 and a bit (can ran out) coats of laquer. Seems to be holding up nicely. The badge was glued on permanently. I figure if I`m selling the car eventually i will buy a standard grill anyway.
  13. I Sprayed my grill black and used my black engine cover skoda badge to replace the original one. I think it looks tidy.
  14. I admit I`m an angry driver but this is only fueled by other peoples lack of awareness and common sense. If I make a mistake (not happened for a while, touch wood) I put my hand up, nod and accept the inevitable abuse directed towards me. What really grinds my gears is when a driver disobeys the highway code causing me to swerve or slam on the brakes and then acts as if I was the driver in the wrong!! One example of this is whilst driving up to one of those traffic calming single file bollarded things put in villages and towns. I was drving towards it knowing the fact that I had right of way to oncoming traffic. This was evident by the 5 foot road sign either side of it. I was level with the start of the single file section and a car coming the other way decided to drive through as well, we met in the middle and for some reason the opposing driver was beeping his horn, flashing his lights and gesticulating towards me to get out of the way. Naturally I didnt and neither did the 4 other cars behind me also with right of way, we were sat there for around 3 minutes as we patiently waited for the driver in the wrong to get out of the way. He lost patience then wheelspan away whilst mounting the curb to the right of me and nearly taking my front bumper off!! He got level with my window and said "what the #### or you playing at you ###### i was there first. #### #### ######!!!!" I was shocked beyond belief at his behavior!!! Sorry for the rant and lack of correct punctuation
  15. Ah well thats better The oil felt very... well oiley not gritty. I will stop worrying now
  16. My dealer told me when i picked the Fab up that they had serviced it which included an oil change. Whilst checking my dipstick today I noticed the oil was pitch black.. Is this normal for newly changed oil in a diesel engine or have they told me porkies? Cheers
  17. Amazingly nothing  Thats why I gave up 6 months of an existing years NCB to cancel and move straight with them. No paperwork coz its all online. Brill.
  18. Black magic for me. The most satisfying colour to detail.
  19. I`ve just taken out a quote with Swiftcover for 300 in toto. I`m 26 4 years NCB and sp30. I was blown away by the price and I`m sure they can beat that 1k renewal. You will need access to a printer tho as they dont send your docs out. You have to print em yourself. Thats why they are cheap tho I guess. Give them a go on there site.
  20. on my usual 22 mile trip to work on B roads on majority A1 cruising at 70 I get 58 Mpg according to my trip comp. I am very pleased with that figure as my Astra gave me 38mpg Max for the same journey.

  22. And I`m still grinning from ear to ear!! The best damn car I have ever owned and I`m kicking myself for not buying one alot sooner than I did. I`ve owned alot of cars and none come close to the satisfaction I get from driving it. It must be the Economy, Value for money and Performance it gives me. I take all the bad things I`ve said about diesels coz I was dumb not to buy one years ago. Please tell me my grin wont wear off with time. I love it!!
  23. Could be worse we could have tonnes of Navy instead!!
