While we're talking boots, what is meant to go into the recessed gap in the bottom lip of the boot? It looks vaguely fire extuinguishy. i.e. open the boot, look straight down and back towards yourself.

It’s time to sell ‘The Tank’. My first car and faithful runabout for 6 years now – It’s been loved and looked after to the best of my ability. I am getting rid only because I bit the bullet and ordered a Mk3 Octavia. Mk1 Octavia Elegance Hatch 1.9 TDI Manual (110) Diamond Silver Under 134,000 miles MOT August Service March Comes with full service history (one minor service by me but otherwise dealer or VAG specialists) and most of the invoices from both myself and the original owner.Included will be the original books and both sets of keys. I’m also happy to chuck in the Haynes manual and an Alpine iDA-X311 head unit and antenna booster that I have been using with it for the last 4 years. The crucial question people are going to ask, cambelt (and water pump), was replaced along with the camshaft in late 2012. Tooth missing in front grille. Small rust patches on the front wheel arches which came from blocked drains that weren’t spotted soon enough (now cleared). As D@z, 0% finance and the opportunity to get a pre-built model has tempted me and I've put a deposit down on a 1.4 TSI Elegance. Ideally wanted Race Blue and a couple of options but impatience has led me to go with a standard spec Black Magic - hopefully have it within a month. I test drove a VRS at the start of the year but champagne tastes and lemonade money ruled that one out.
