I plugged in my obd2 and launched VAG DPF and the icon appeared with an egg timer and exclamation point. This usually means it hasn't completed a regen so needs to be run up to temp to regen.

Just heard back from the garage, they won't clean the DPF out as they may make it worse by emulsifying the ash that's in there. So wtf do I do?

No. When I bought the car I got it down 800 because I was worried about the air con and DPF as it hadn't regenerated for a while. Just thought it needed a regen as it hadn't been driven for a while.

I have spoken to them and because I bargained £800 off the car because I wasn't happy with the ash level being only 5g they now won't look at it. They want the car back which is 150 miles away which will more than likely kill it.

I've booked In for a DPF clean but they claim it's for partially blocked DPF's. Do I need the thing removed and baked or will a chemical clean fix the issues?

I tried that as I changed the differential sensor 1st. Is it possible the car is badly mapped causing massive soot output? It feels very quick when it's not doing a regen.

It seems the calculated soot drops while the measured is staying the same. The measured only drops if I idle the car. The regen completes, then I drive the car and the measured goes up very quickly followed by the spike to 100% full. 🤔

Those figures are at full chat. The car does a regen then the g/km spikes at around 24000 g/km for litterly 1 second and the DPF goes into regen again. Surely this is a sensor error?

I have now changed the differential pressure sensor, MAF, map and reset all the values on vcds. Yes I reset the ash to 0 to observe when the DPF regen starts. It was on 5.0 when I got the car. I notice when I boot the car it happens but if I go slow the spike doesn't go up and the DPF acts normally. The other think I noted was when the spike in soot happens the injector values jump up as pictured. I have emailed the company and asked them to have the car fixed as it's not road worthy at present. The oil is becoming contaminated and it's doing 40mpg on a run which is awful. No reply from the garage but I'll report them to trading standards if they don't reply. Could the O2 sensor be at fault? When I got the car there was a leak between the turbo and cat which just needed the clamp tightening up as it was loose. Cheers for the replies guys

Unfortunately the garage is 200 miles away and they do not have repair facilities. The car is covered by a warranty that only covers engine and gearbox failures.

So. I purchased my 2015 octy vrs cr last week and noticed the regens are happening everytime I drive the car. I plugged her in and no fault codes, so Vag DPF shows the car has a fault (red exclamation point next to a timer) the car seems to do a full regen......which takes nearly 40 mins of driving.....then clears until I restart the car, then the car runs as expected for a minute or 2 then the soot jumps up to 100% full or more. I have changed the dpf exhaust pressure sensor and reset the values in vcds but no joy. Can anyone tell me what else I can do to solve this please? Its driving me mental.....pun intended. prospeed exhausts in Rumney, Cardiff (wentloog road) come highly recommended. Charlie is a legend there....

anyone heard anything about this device? http://www.cgon.co.uk/ Its basically a hydrogen fuel cell that forces hydrogen into the intake apparently reducing emissions and fuel usage by 25%!!!! I call bull on the whole thing any views on this?
