  1. thanks for the above, need to learn a bit about them.
  2. not sure what it is, in between the washer bottle and the coolant bottle on the left hand side there is a black box/bottle. it sits right next to the power steering fluid. intermitantly it makes a clicking type noise. when i feel one of the pipes coming off it, whilst making the clicking noise it vibrates. is this normal and what is it. has anyone recently changed there diverter valve. i have just bought a bailey one, which is a direct replacement for the plastic one. is it hard to change, any ball ache problems. and last i have just bought my vrs, its a 2004 with 40k on the clock. are they pretty reliable and is there anything i should be checking on. should the cambelt be done around 60k
  3. Hi all, I am Phil from the Manchester area. Just bought a 2004 Octavia VRS.I have a little one so mrs still wanted a nice sensible family car, so what could be better. I just need a little help of any tech boys, or ladies as i have a few little questions. I apologise in advance if these are already posted on the forum. Under the bonnet on the left hand side there is a black container. it sits between the washer and coolent bottles and next too the power steering fluid. Intermitantly it makes a clicking noise while the engine is running and i can feel a vibration while its doing this through a pipe connected to it. What is the plastic box for and is that normal. I have just bought a bailey diverter/ re circulating valve to replace the standard plastic one. are they a ball ache to fit. any advice or fitting instructions on this. what is the best oil to use, i intend servicing it around every 10 - 12k. lastly the car i have bought is a 2004 53 plate. it has had one previous owner and has 40k on the clock. is there anything i should be worried about, checking, and is 60k the best time to change the cam belt. sorry for the questions and your advice would be grately appreciated. cheers Phil
