  1. 1) Took the luggage cover off 2) Got silcone spray (Motul Silicone Clean which is now called Shine and Go I think) and sprayed liberally onto clean rag 3) Inserted cloth into guide runners and moved up and down runners to clean and lube them 4) Sprayed silcone onto the luggage cover guides 5) Reattached luggage cover 6) Revelled in the smoothness!
  2. Cleaning and lubing with silicone has sorted it for me..
  3. Is it possible to re-tension the retractable luggage cover? Mine doesn't retract as well as I think it once did. It's not broken damaged to the best of my knowledge Thanks
  4. I tow a Bailey Pageant Provence (Mass in Running Order (Kg) - 1205, Maximum Technical Permissible Laden Mass (Kg) - 1420) with my 2012 Superb 2.0 TDI 170. First caravan I've owned so I can't really compare to anything else but the car is faultless - did 450 miles in one day last summer back from Belgium and it was a breeze
  5. +1 - Just done exactly the same and it's much quieter. Can't comment on mileage yet though
  6. The sensors should turn off - if you search the threads for tow bars, you'll see a few have had issues with 'factory fitted' tow bars. It's generally the dealer that does it and they don't seem to be the best.
  7. I've got the Westfalia detachable fitted to my Superb - when removed you wouldn't know the car had a towbar. The only part of the bumper that should be cut is the black plastic 'apron' that you can't really see. Cost was £450 12 months ago
  8. I had the Westfalia detachable fitted by Derby Towbars earlier this year for £450 - did a fantastic job I'd avoid using the dealers as the will either farm it out to a local towbar fitter anyway and charge you around £600+ (iirc) or make a pigs ear of it - if you search the threads you'll see plenty on the subject.
  9. Hi All I'm after the wring diagram for the rain sensor in the driving mirror. My little girl was messing about in the front seat of our Octavia and stood up, dislodging the mirror. The 3 wires into the multi plug into the rain sensor have fallen out so I need to know which slots in the multiplug they go into (they are marked 1, 2 and 3 on the multiplug). Thanks
  10. Had more time to search forum this morning and found this post - pictures show the part I was looking at, which is the Turbo boost hose I think. Thanks for the help
  11. I have an oil leak and need some help identifying what it is that's leaking. There is a cylindrical metal object slightly protruding from the engine cover in front of the front offside wheel - PAS pump? Steering rack maybe? Any help much appreciated!
  12. When you say issues, what do you mean? Handbrake works correctly and engages after 3/4 clicks. There's nothing wrong with the braking per se, it's more the pedal travel and the subsequent lack of bite. The Octavia and my S3 previously (can't really compare to that though, as it had vented disks the size of dinner plates) have great stoppers. Pads aren't glazed or contaminated btw
