SEAT PD160 air intake

I have the same with C C. Its excellent for long distance driving, if theres alot of traffic about it can be a pain, so unless you do big journeys or alot of motorway driving (when its not busy) i wouldnt bother. -

I have it and NO PS has anyone actually ever had their car checked? Or even know someone who has? My family had 4 cars all go at once late last year, (tree fell across them all) yet no-one even bothered to come and check to see if the tree had been deliberately felled (though it hadnt) -

I wouldnt know but its a piece of cake to get out of, just plead total ignorance, "my dealer said this was the one to have as a replacement" end of story. (unless its an out and out performance like K & N) PS has anyone actually ever had their car checked? Or even know someone who has? admittedly i only actually know 3 people, and 2 of those work at my local corner shop nah, i come from a family heavily into motorsport (no not a chav), and i live 12 miles from the nearest town, so we have plenty of chance to play in safety, i just resent the thought of this country being run by fear. -

Anyone who gets caught for dangerous driving, deserves to have the book thrown at them. Coppers know what happens when your going slightly too fast, they also know what happens when your being totally F***ing stupid. Having a knock at 50 in a 40, wont get your car checked over. Luckily its not a risk i am actually taking, but the fear of god is put into us all the time to make sure we dont. I dont know a single person who has had their car checked after a biggie! and i know people that have had perfect reasons to have their cars well and truly checked over. (and things would have been found, like cherry diesel ect) -

2 THINGS; 1: you have to really bugger things up to have someone checking your car over, If you are having your car checked then it is usually because of a dangerous driving offence, you might write the car off, but if noone else is involved and you didnt end up 1/2 mile across a field, no-ones checking! In otherwords, they only check when foul play is suspected. 2: Even if a dealer did pick up on it, they are hardly going to tell your insurers. agree? -

yeah i agree with you, but i wanna know if anyone could actually tell without purposefully looking for it? hmm ponder i will -
My mate has a seat PD130 and was considering purchasing the PD160 air intake, and not bother to tell anyone. I understand the need for upto date and precise information regarding insurers, BUT, unless you had two cars next to each other and compared them, would anyone actually notice? even during servicing? I've seen the fitting instructions and i can notice the largers size, but only with something to compare to. Is there anything else that stands out?

Owners of new Fabia vRS's: Check your oil
LUCKY_FABIA_VRS replied to pbirkett's topic in General Automotive Chat
Bought my Fabia Vrs on the 15 July 2004, currently on 34,000 miles (yes i do that many!) and i havent had a single problem with my car. I have worked my engine hard from new (the dealer said not to be too careful with it as they said the best running cars they had sold, had been the hardest pushed from the beginning) So with my weekly mileage coming close to 1k per week, i had plenty of chances to get a problem. Now i know some people have experienced "enhanced problems" with their oil levels but i was always told that with ANY new diesel engine the oil should be checked very often due to the nature of the engine, and yes contrary to public belief, pushing your TDi hard straight out of the box, somehow seems to make it run far better from the word GO! I have had my Vrs a relatively short while and clocked up alot of miles, yet the engine hasnt given me a moment of worry, my advice is that if you are buying an new diesel, cane the thing straight from the box, and it will go better forever. (many many other people believe this) cheers -
Sorry if i seem really dim, but..... What do you mean by: Now considering most vRS's as standard are around 145-150 bhp not 130 bhp??? I am not saying your wrong i just need proff or a very good explanation!!
