  1. 136 is that the one in late rapids? maybe if i get my hands on a whole car, i know where one stands... The thing is this, since they flipped twice on television in Sweden in the -70:es the market died for skodas and only about 200-300/year where sold by a small importer. And i think it was onlu estelles and rapids, No Forman at all where imported i think. But then the Felicia came in 1995 with the help from VW and there where skodas everywhere ;-) That why my question, there isnt parts everywhere as you can understand.
  2. Thanks for all the input! 1, a Favorit is eaven less avaliable than an Estelle i Sweden so that engine is not an option 2, it looks like its easier/cheeper to repair or replace the Estelle engine. By the way, in the good ol days when they raced with the Saab 96 v4 at Ralleycross and at Nurnburgring and they pur fuel injection and turbo on it and pushed it to 300+hp
  3. So can i reuse my original fuel and exhaust manifolds? and just fit them on an 1,3 felicia engine? ive got an 1,2 originally
  4. Well thanks for all the advise but im really looking for another skoda engine. like a felicia or something. i want it to go thru the MOT. I just blew my head gasket big time and im not really shure the engine is ok after that. The gasket was poor to beginn with but if i drowe carefully it was ok but then... Im not shure a change of head gasket can fix it. I just had to keep on going to get somewhere i could leave the car. damn the only time i did not keep an eye on the temp gauge...
  5. What engines can i use? How much can i reuse? I really only want to do as little as possible, best scenario is only to move over the exterior parts for fuel and exhaust and so on
  6. I took the brakes apart, the Vw beetle brake drum tool fits perfect! but what i noticed was that i could take off the crown nut by hand... So i just cleaned the adjustment and bolt it on again and with force this time, se if it works going to MOT again...
  7. For the first time in 10 years, and it almost went thru. To big play in right rear hub and bad braking on the same. Thats the only thing after standing 10 years under a tree in nothern Sweden... And the only thing i replaced is regular service parts and the main brake cylinder, ofcourse ive been fiddeling on other stuff but no replacements just cleaning and adjusting amazing car...
  8. i got it working now. took apart and cleaned all parts in the pick-up its supposed to be apx 400ohms between the yellow and the blue wire the black in the middle is the reader for the warning lamp. When the pick up is manouvered it will go from 400ohm(full) to 0ohm (emty) measured on one of the wires and earth. Then i measured at the gauge on the wires and manouvered the pick up to se that the cables is ok, and found out the the gauge is faulty. Took the gauge apart and found that one of the leads may have shortciciut on another or bad soldering. anyway moved the isolation and resoldered the wires all of them then it worked:-)
  9. Actually i already had it removed and have taken it apart, nothing have been stuck and it looked good thats why wondering about the resistant values to see if its the pickup or the gauge that the fault.
  10. Anu one that have any suggestions? My gauge only goes to the full when turning the ignition on and only moves down apc 5-6mm when tank is empty. I guess thats its the pick up unit thats causing the trouble but there is no obvius faults on it so i figured that it might be able to measure resistance on it. But where shall i measure and what shall it read? And anyway how can i check the gauge?
  11. Well these crasy RWD skodas are the real deal, the eastern block BMW...;-) Good tip with the adaptors! maybe i can make some, got some friends with skills so...
  12. I dont think its the servo, as i said before i can press the pedal to the floor no problem and not with any big force either, and the brakes dont start to work untill the wery end of the pedal movement(down at the floor). I just got hold of a new brake cylinder but i havnt fitted it yet.
  13. Ah, of course. Well i get it going first then maybe bling it ;-)
  14. Well i got my Haynes now and the nuts that ive talked about is aparently the mounting parts for some brakepad holders/spacers on the top and bottom of the brake pad.
