  1. Hi! Does anybody know how to remove driver’s side recessed handle (the handle above driver’s head)? I found out this workshop manual on the internet, it’s quite useful but not 100% clear: http://workshop-manuals.com/skoda/yeti/body/body_work/interior_equipment/recessed_handle/ But I don’t understand exactly how to unclip the clamps??? Should I try to spread apart the clamps, as much as possible, and pull hard on the handle? Or should I place a screwdriver between outer and inner clamps and peel them off somehow? I tried to do both, but I accomplished nothing. The clamps hardly budge at all. It’s really difficult to spread them apart. And I don’t want to damage something. If someone has a clear idea how to do this please help... thnx
  2. I apologize if I gave wrong advice , although I would be somewhat surprised if Roomster (plain version, not Scout) doesn't have a recess or canal to clamp down roof racks. Octavia has them... I don't know about Fabia, but again that would be a big drawback if it doesn't. :thumbdwn:

  6. I haven't personally but I've heard from a person who actually visited superskoda.com that this is in fact a small shop with flimsy shed in the backyard. Very little items are on stock, almost everything has to be ordered. This is what I heard, at least.
  7. That's right. You don't need to have roof rails to mount Thule, Mont Blanc, etc. roof boxes or other roof accessories. Besides, this is cheaper and far simpler way to go since fitting roof rails is quite tricky.
  8. LMs are a bit similar to standard Skoda Elegance alloys: Have them since I bought the car and all I can say is that they are pain in one's backside to wash properly.
  9. As a happy owner of Mk1 I have to say that Mk2 is better Especially nice is ECU and all the nice things you can do with VAG COM and OBD2 port.
  10. Right, but what about Octavia Scout Estate? I believe that Roomster Scout is about an inch higher that Octavia Scout, disregarding the seat, but it's really after iccyboo to see if this is enough for him.
  11. Don't forget that older cars with extra HPs also tend to me more worn out. So next owner always has to do extra chores and fix parts that ordinarily wouldn't need fixing.
  12. 1.8T 150HP and 180HP don't have the same acceleration and top speed: 217km/h, 8,4 sec and 240km/h, 7,9 sec. And there's no such thing as 180HP 4x4, only RS.
  13. First I'd recommend adjusting height of the driver's seat. In a Roomy Scout you can be positioned either rather lowish or highish. What I mean is that there's a non negligible difference between the lowest and the highest seat position. I would expect there is a small difference in driver's seat height between O2 Scout and Roomy Scout in Roomy's favor, but it is overshadowed by the set seat position.
  14. my opinion exactly. seat is too much "plastic is fantastic" and "sporty" member of VAG family. skoda is better all around car.
  15. Octy Mk1 has 5x100 bolt pattern. This is commonplace pattern: Golf IV, Audi late 90's early 00's, etc. I think you won't have trouble finding the right discs.
  16. Fronts: 312mm On mine 1.8T (2002, 150HP) fronts are 288 and rears 239mm.
  17. I can tell you right away that a very good thing to do would be to change springs and shock absorbers together. It's not necessary of course, but a good thing to do. The reason is that, at least as I have noticed, that the old shocks are under greater strain from shorter springs so they'll wear out faster, plus you'll be hearing a squeak or two from them on bumps.
  18. Look veeery nice on these wheels! Respect. BTW, how does the car feel on the road? Is it comfortable enough, rock hard, or? I have Eibach Pro -30 springs on mine and I'm obviously considering putting 17" wheels but I'm a bit concerned how will that reflect on my lower back. and the car of course...
  19. Right, I'd like the wheels to hang on the spacers not the bolts. That would do. This is why I'm thinking 16-20mm would be the best option.
  20. I'm a bit bored so I'm thinking about putting wheel spacers on my Roomy. What do you think? Is it worth it? Is it safe? I was thinking about 16mm up to 20mm spacers only on rear wheels, or even all four wheels. I don't want shorter or longer spacers for safety reasons. Roomy has familiar 5x100 bolt pattern so finding good quality spacers shouldn't be a problem, right? Thanks four your advice
  21. Looks like Christmas decoration... Would be nice in the winter holidays season though.
  22. I completely removed the rear seats and packed the stuff in between the bikes, in nooks and crannies. Looked really awful but was efficient enough.
