thanks guy, im gonna hand it in the garage soon to get fixed. worst thing is, i only need the car till march, then im selling it, so much money is being spent on just keeping it going.

I did the read on the engine light, it came up with cylinder 2 misfire and EGR valve fuel insufficient. I checked my oil today, its really low, only topped it up last month. Could this be from the problems in the EGR value. Help.

if i use a carburettor cleaner, then will this stop the jerking of the car whilst im driving?

the car, is a w reg, 1.4 16v elegance.

found out i have a code, its p0401, egr fuel insuffiencent. i had the egr valve replaced last month, what else do i need to do?

I have a problem when im driving the car seems to jerk. The rev drops down rapidly and suddenly picks up again, its like someone slamming on the emergency brakes and suddenly accelerating feeling. anyone else experience this problem. its really weird. could it be the EGR value malfunctioning or something else?

Sorry, I mean i just rev it to the first counter the 1 mark. i got a 16v. engine light only, no other lights. i mean the electric windows dont work unless operated from the drivers side console and now the boot doesnt open unless operated from the driver side.

my engine is the 1.4 petrol. where are the foot wells.

I got my engine light come on today, the car has done like 100,000 miles. I got a funny feeling one of pistons is gone, everytime i rev the car near 10 rev mark, it starts shaking, as soon as you go past that point it goes away. also, no passenger side windows work - all electronic, no interior lights work, the boot doesnt open, unless clicked from inside. apart from that its ok. where do i plug the reader into to check my DTC codes?? i can find where the plug is situated in the car.

i will check the fuse and try the one touch reset but the only thing is, if im doing it from the drivers side console, will the windows then work from the drivers side. thanks.
