  1. always make sure you let the fuel pump prime before you turn the key. I used to have this problem on my old focus until i slowed down and let all the lights go out, just hold for a few seconds and then fire her up
  2. hi duggie, have you had a look under the filler cap? If there is a slight creamyness or "mayo" it may have an issue with the head gasket with water getting into the engine. You should also check the oil level just in case its not just a dodgy oil sensor. Where in ox are you as i know burford, witney carterton areas pretty well....
  3. just done my front pads today and the bolts holding the caliper on were a swine to get off, just so soft its unreal on a newish car. Gald they are done, although they will be a bit spongy for a while till they bed in :S
  4. no offence intended but tis a bit chavvy, i love it tho
  5. for anyone who doesn't know what a rude boi is please use the google search facility, many thanks
  6. lol no swirl marks just a cheap easy clean, once summer arrives then normal service will resume
  7. no idea but sounds interesting, pop by swindon
  8. Hi Dave, Can you give me anymore details? The car has just had its 3rd birthday (registered on 13th Jan) so i am doubting any redress is possible now?! Its not all the time, just very very annoying when you have had much worse CDs play just fine in every other car :(
  9. ebay may be your best bet helston....
  10. depends how much driving you do, lots of driving = lots of wear
  11. lol, i put mine thru the bargain shell economy wash for £2.49 at the moment, just not worth the effort when its back to how it was in 3 days time!
  12. sorry to hijack the thread but my fabia has the symphony cd player in and it certainly the worst i have had in any car i have owned. It seems to have problems playing any type of CD in the cold and even if CDs have the lightest of scratches on them it will skip and bounce all over the place.
  13. sounds like a trip to the dealers will sort it out then tezza. I havn't had many problems with them to be honest, but if you really don't want to go to a main dealer there are pleanty of independant Skoda specialists which charge a bit less with in many cases the same or better level of service! Luke
  14. Thanks for the reassurance guys, i thoguht it may have been just as the oil and filters were due a change so fingers crossed should be fine.
  15. Thanks Moggy, emissions test results are: Fast idle CO 0.037 (max 0.200) HC 0 (max 200) Lambda 1.029 (min 0.970 max 1.030) Natural Idle CO 0.295 (max 0.300)
  16. lol leave it alone and dont be so vain! :-P
  17. Thanks mate, I do about 20k a year so its in frequent use and i always take it through the rev range so that should be alright. The tolerances are whats concerning, just dont want to be on the wrong side of it as I dont really wanna have to sell me skoda!
  18. lol, 17's look chavvy and attract the wrong type of attention and are somewhat ironic on a skoda perhaps *jokes* stick to the originals mate, keep it nice and standard
  19. Evenin guys and gals, Just a quickie hopefully. Had my MOT and passed after a bulb, but looking at the emossions test it seems to be right upto the limit or very slightyly under. I warmed the car up property before the MOT but put off the service until after the MOT. It hadn't had an oil change in 8k and have no record of the sparks or air filter being changed. All services etc and inspection work has been done at correct intervals by Skoda however. They have all been done now as just had the major 40k service done at the dealer. Do you think the emissions levels are down to this or am I needing new lambda or something more serious?! Not had a great deal to do with Skoda's in the past apart from an old felicia as used to a bullit proof focus
  20. Same really, got my fabia serviced there 6 months ago and was quite impressed with what £90 got me, ie everything checked with an oil change etc but last week I returned for my major 40k service and was dissapointed afterwards. £215 later and it seemed extortionate that £137 of that is labour to change the air filter, oil and spark plugs. I also paid for 1L of screen wash of which a splash must have been used in the filler. Last time they left me the remains of the bottle in the boot in the strapped section. Just little things really got me irritated about this place. Is there any other main skoda dealers around the Swindon area? LukeM
