  1. Well I have a 56 BLT vrs and read this and most other topics on the forum about batteries. There was a 027 battery in there, but there was space in the tray for a 096 albeit the jacket would be undersized. I opted for a yuasa as 80a/720. Anyway, fitted fine and the jacket goes almost the whole way around as well. Just doesn't do up but the ends touch when all snugly clipped in I can't see it going anywhere? Best of both worlds? Remind me in 5 years...
  2. Well took it out today and was self explanatory to plug in with a bit of wire, bearings definitely gone and there seemed to be a lot of play would start with a 12v but definitely not spinning freely or smoothly. Have ordered replacement from a scrapper.
  3. I've read the topics on here from before and opened up the dash, no sign of any obstructions fan moves ok but seems to squeak a bit. Went in both through the recirculation flap and also the pollen filter. It blew the resistor pack about a year ago and it was replaced and worked for about 6 months. It then went again and I was running it on 0 and 4, then a couple of months ago it stopped completely and a slight smell of burnt plastic so I think it's the motor. I replaced the resistor pack but it's blowing the fuse. I think it must be the blower fan itself, I read posts about testing it with a 12v battery and plugging directly but just wondered if anyone could advise. If it does do something I've also read posts about putting some engine oil on the bearings but the photos in the old thread were wiped, has anyone done this and can advise? Thanks guys, she's quite an age now 56 plate so coming 17. Is the original heater blower motor. If I order replacement any specific copies I should go for, or worth gambling on a used one? Thanks
