  1. Thanks for that. I am UK based so tax paid not tax free unfortunately. Having had a quick look at those websites there still appears to be decent tax paid discounts though.
  2. Good stuff, thanks all. I am in the military, so will also see if there are some decent discounts available for tax paid cars as well, provided they can be used with the dealer cheap 2.9% APR finance.
  3. Useful thanks. I had not heard of carwow before. So what kind of discount is offered?
  4. Quick couple of questions: - what sort of discounts are readily available on the vRS estate TDI? - Is the 2.9% APR finance offer available on diesels or is it just petrols? The website just gives a petrol finance example. Thanks all.
  5. That would be why the contract hire deals are looking so attractive then! I am now stuck between ordering an Octavia Elegance DSG on a 2 or 3 year personal contract hire or buying a 3 year old VW Passat estate on HP for less money !
  6. Regarding DSG, i have no choice, it's DSG or nothing. My wife will only drive automatics.
  7. Thanks for the responses. In contact with Simpsons again today about their demo.
  8. If the 1.6 TDI DSG was cheaper than the 2.0 TDI, I would go for that engine, but strangely, the bigger diesel engine is cheaper on a PCH contract. I suspect the residuals are slightly stronger. To be fair, the bigger engine is probably the better one for me anyway. Does anyone know when dealers are likely to have Octavia estate demos?
  9. The new Octavia estate is at the top of my list to replace my current Volvo V70. I will probably get one on a personal contract hire package as the price is very competitive and it beats any personal finance package over 2 years. I have the figures from Simpsons Preston and am just waiting for the opportunity to view and drive the Octavia and directly compare with the V70. The stats indicate that the Skoda is, not unsurprisingly, slightly smaller, but as long as my dogs can fit comfortably in the back it should be fine. I am inclined to go for the 2.0 TDI in elegance DSG trim and in steel grey, No other options. Has anyone driven the octy estate yet? I quite fancy the 1.6 diesel but the 2.0 is cheaper on contract hire.
  10. Hello mate really glad you like your new car it looks stunning,i have ordered one but i have not got it as yet, can i ask what lead to i need so that my ipod/iphone will plug into it.

    Regards

    Darren

  11. Now on eBay as a classified ad. I have just ordered a new Z4 so it needs to go...but not at any price!
  12. I have had three dealers happy to offer me £15500 for the vRS as a part ex - very encouraging!
  13. May 2010 (10 plate) Skoda Octavia 2.0 CR TDI vRS Hatchback - Facelift Candy White, 3200 miles - £15750ovno This is a standard car with the following factory fit extras: • Maxidot • Media Device Interface – with iPod cable • Rear Parking Sensors • Full size spare wheel Car was registered 20 May 2010, bought new by me, I am the first and only registered owner. Usual vRS refinements: • Half Leather interior • Cruise control • Touch Screen radio with 6CD, media/Aux input including MDI and an iPod cable is included. • 170bhp CR engine • Absolutely as new condition • Full Skoda Warranty and breakdown cover until May 2013 • Bought from Hortons Skoda Lincoln • Tax until end Apr 2011 (£125/year) It probably goes without saying but this is hugely economical, practical and swift car. It looks fantastic in Candy White with red brake callipers and 18” alloys. A recent change in domestic circumstances mean that I do not require such a large car now, which means that it has to go, even though I am selling at a loss after such a short period of time. I am not desperate for a sale, so will not accept silly offers and will keep the car for now rather than letting it go at a big loss. The car is in North Lancashire. It has VW finance outstanding which will be settled as part of the sale. It also has my private plate on it at the moment, I would prefer to remove it and put it on retention, but would be content to keep it on the car for a small sum. The price is competitive, I believe, compared to the price of a discounted new vRS with options. It is also the cheapest Facelift CR vRS available, having looked at Pistonheads Classifieds, eBay and Autotrader. If interested please PM me, I have only advertised on Briskoda for now and will widen the advertisement in a few days.
