  1. Im in leeds,A brother works for vw ( although not a grease monkey ), so he plugged it in for me, originally I got an error code ( sorry don't no the number ) for a secondary sensor, something to do with air flow, they replaced the hoses and the fault cleared, I aso had the cam and water pump replaced etc. About 800 miles clocked on and the light came on and vag-com showed the 17705, the mechanics at vw said it was probably the TB that needed cleaning, but even if I did this it would probably return after approx 6k. This is my first skoda, ive always gone for older cars, where they are not plug and play, so im not used to getting lights flashing up all the time etc. What I was wondering is, due to the light coming on just after cam etc been done, if it was something to do with how they had set up the timing etc, ie incorrectly, and that if this could alter the pressure etc.ThanksPaul
  2. I have the 17705 showing up and the dash light is on, if I clean the throttle body etc, will the light automatically go off, if the problem is cured, or will I have to take it to a dealer to get it deleted etc ?
  3. Just a thought, I have just had the cam and waterpumps replaced etc approx 800 miles ago, could an incorrect set up be causing me these problems ?
  4. Hello just after picking peoples brains... the engine warning light came on the other month and highlighted a couple of issues... The first was for a secondary air flow sensor, ... I had a look and the the hose looked warn and damaged, I have since removed and replaced the hose and deleted the fault in the ecu memory...it ran fine for around 2k and then faulted again. However on the second time of failing I now have a fault in the ecu memory, which states the the throttle body is loosing pressure. Anyone got any ideas ? Thanks
  5. Hello, newish Octavia owner, 2002 1.8t 4x4 Estate. Considering getting a remap, but just very confused. Ive spent the best part of a day reading previous posts etc, but im still not sure what the best option is for me. Looking to increase BHP and Torque, without having to spend on other upgrades such as breaks, new turbo etc. Is this possible ? and who produces the best software, ie Jabba, Revo etc and finally does anyone recommend a garage in the Yorkshire area to undertake the remap. Sorry just not done this before
  6. Hello all, finally with the missus about to drop i finally got the opportunity to purchase a Skoda, to keep the missus happy it had to be the octavia estate, to keep me happy its the 1.8T ( 150 BHP ) 4x4 2002 model. Been driving it around for just over a week and I have to say it the most comfortable driving experience I have ever had. Now that the missus is happy, I understand that the engine can be remapped to give better economy and BHP. having previously owned jap cars, im not too sure on who produces the best remapping or where I could go to get this done ( Yorkshire area ) or how much this would cost. Ive looked on the internet and all I seem to be able to find is the plug in's for tdI's Can anyone help ?
