Its very bad yeah, the suspension has been raised right up since i did the first shaft, to get a more factory driveshaft horizontal angle, i now just want to know if when looking from above the clock angle betwixt diff and hub is noticeably different for some reason?.. Would appreciate it thanks.

Ok, this will be more useful if you have a CAI fitted. If you could, stand at the N/S wheel looking into the bay, hold the camera directly above the N/S driveshaft and take a picture straight down. I'm trying to gauge the angle between gbox and hub. The car has broken 3 driveshafts in 3 days... You can appreciate the urgency. Thanks.

OK, so if i remove the black metal cover, i should be able to lift out that plastic cap with the plug on and be into the tank?

I also need eng speed sensor, is ours the long or short lead one? how many pins etc? thanks

Guys i need to empty the content of my cars fuel tank, which fortunately should only be circa 7 litres or so. There's some horrible substance in there that is not allowing the car to work. Whats the quickest way to get it all out? I can't sit priming the pump all day with the feed disconnected... Thanks!

Do this. A pipe is a pipe in this instance, it makes no difference. Bang a good filter on there and you're away. Think mine cost £50 Plus a good filter. Takes a couple minutes to fit (i removed battery etc for ease, not totally necessary though) Never had any probs with wet weather as where the filter sits is in an enclosed space behind the bumper.

Are all of the octy 1 vrs locking wheel nuts (i.e. the one that's splined out and requires a tool in the socket to remove it) all the same on all vrs? I.e. would a tool from another work on mine? Its a very simple design after all. I've lost mine to top off my worst week of car ownership.

I'm in a whole world of **** now. Everything is breaking. Shaft is stuck in the hub... lower balljoing is spinning trackrod bj is spinning, cannot remove inboard end of dshaft, i'm properly knackered.

Yes they do and sadly i've done all of the above. Not a bit of movement :( Guess its corroded like hell...

My nearside CV boot split so today i went to get a new 'un. Stocked up ready to go and i cannot for the life in me remove the driveshaft from the hub!!!!!! Two of us have been on it for four hours and got NOWHERE. Is there more securing the shaft into the the hub than the main nut visible if you were to look in the centre of the brake disc? This is getting desperate. Thanks.

Hi guys, i'm doing an oil change shortly, how much should be used to replenish after the drain?

Everythime i go out in the car, then stop and get out you can smell warm rubber, but its only coming from the LR tyre.... I've looked under the car and can't see anything immediately untoward, does anyone else suffer this? Proximity of the exhaust to tyre?

The octavia (vrs) as we all know has the worlds most dire audio as standard. Its beginning to grate on me a bit now so i would like to upgrade, but do so using the bare minimum of pieces. So straight to the point: Front speakers that fit straight in, no messing about due to depths etc, what is there? I want to run a (small) sub in the car for depth, this doesn't need to be large diameter, i would prefer something responsive. Best going with traditional boot mounted or are there decent slimline cabin efforts? This i assume will need an amp, what will i need? All of the above ok off standard headunit? (Running ipod interface) Thankyaw

I never did anything about it, the car hasn't made the noises again since and i cba kneeling down in a few inches of snow to check the SMIC pipes! Westallc, you mention pancake pipe... don't i remember someone offering a more rounded out version of that pipe aftermarket? I can't remember who does it.... EDIT found one by THS that looks decent. How easy is it to get the front bumper off the VRS so i can have a good look around?

I'll look this weekend hopefully. No loss of power experienced when it happens, so it may just be the start of something.

A couple of days ago my and again today i can hear the turbo really loudly. I've fitted a CAI and DV recently so thought a possible loose connection there, but everything is fine and tight. The noise is intermittent, didn't do it for the few days before the first occurence and today. I though possible exhaust leak? Anyone had similar?

Ok i looked at the piper stuff on Msport world. There's a piper "System" listed. What does that include? From downpipe back i assume? Cheers for the help and info!

I like the blueflame. Thing is i hate the muffler tip on it. Can you ask for one of their other tips before you buy? Or do you have to buy it, then take it to them to change the tip afterwards?

I think my downpipe has developed a crack or hole and is now blowing. Does anyone know of any decent exhausts that perhaps aren't as well known as Miltek/ABD etc and therefore do not have cool points tax attached to them? Thanks.
