  1. Hi. I have an Octy 2.0 ltr diesel on a 20 plate ( 4.5 years old) with 61k on the clock. The gearbox started giving problems and the fault codes indicate clutch faults ( clutch 1). The car stuck in first gear and we luckily managed to get it to a local garage round the corner. ( nearest Skoda dealer is 20 miles away) he ran a diagnosics and it revealed fault codes. I phoned my dealer to enquire what to do and they told me I'd have to bring it up. Tow truck and £100 later it arrived there last Friday. They ran a diagnostic and found no faults ( apparently they had been wiped by the previous check) but I have the print out of the report with the codes on it. As, I believe, this is a common and known fault, I enquired about goodwill from Skoda at my dealership. They told me they would contact Skoda which they did. Skoda would not accept the independent garages fault report. Now they have driven the car for 30 miles and it has behaved impeccably. So, although I know there is a major gearbox fault they are saying there is nothing wrong with the car. And even though I have proof of the fault codes, are now saying the will not supply the parts so it can be repaired without their own diagnostic displaying the relevant fault codes. I, and even the garage agrees that the gearbox will fail. Skoda are at present, refusing to supply the parts for repair even though I have said I will pay for the repair. IM FUMING.
  2. Cost me an extra £12 @toot. Its not fotted yet. Cant get the undertray off
  3. Hi guys. Thanks for all the replies and info. I've decided to go with the RaceChips GTS. ( max warrenty protection) But, as always happens with me, I have an immediate problem. Unfortunately I have to remove the engine undertray to get to one of the sensors ( nobody warned me about that). Managed to get the 8 screws out ( as per instructions) but can't get the tray to come away. Anyone had to do this?
  4. Thanks @numskull. Just swithering between remap and box. Just bought MY 19 ans got 2 years warranty. Take it they would detect map during servicing etc? Dont favour the boxes but at least i can remove.
  5. Are these figures in line with expectation?
  6. Just traded in my 2017 Volvo V40 R design D4 and picked up my moon white, MY19 sportline plus 4x4 DSG 272. Well chuffed with it on the 150 mile trip home. Love the ACC. Car basically drives itself 😁.
  7. Hi all. I've just bought a MY 19 sportline plus 272 and was considering whether or not to remap. Firstly, do I need it? I must admit, having a car pushing 350bhp sounds amazing. Secondly, basic remap or rolling Road? Just watched a video of a company testing 4 tuning boxes and none of them had anywhere near the gains claimed. Would a non- rolling remap likely be the same?
  8. Yeah, that is a stupid question. I have tried everything that I can think of. Searched the internet and tried the reset thing. totally at a loss now so will call dealer tomorrow.
  9. Hi All I have just bought an Octy III facelift with the above infotainment system. Its brand new (well 20 plate with 24 miles on clock) driving it home from dealers and decided to give the radio a blast. No sound . the speaker symbol with the red line through it just appears all the time. Have tried a 'soft reset' holding the on/off button til it reboots. but no joy. Is there a simple fix or is it back to dealer already?
