Yep-- Same with mine --utter rubbish! Was wondering if any other VW group wiper arms would clip on? --or whether i could somehow adapt a front blade refill to fit? -anyone managed a mod?

I believe it not legal to drive on side lamps and fogs--PC Plod stopped my father one time in his car for doing just that (-- not in the fog though!)and told him off! I was thinking that for the amount of time we get fog that bad--the lights might be more useful as higher power driving lamps; after all lots of cars don't have front fog lamps.

Has anyone managed to upgrade the lower front driving/fog lamps on the Scout? (-to some that project further infront of the car) The standard fits just seem to illuminate the areaa close to and around the front end.

I had the Dunlops which lasted ok. I now have the Uniroyal Rainsport 2's which seem grippier and at present are lasting ok too. They did great last winter but I'm getting a set of winters on 16" rims so I can really see what the Scout can do. I'll happily put another set of UR2's on though.

Try dropping the prop shaft off to the rear. --Possible slightly mis-shaped shaft causing the vibration.

I'm looking to geta a set of steelies for my 2.0d Scout too (Thanks for the info above) BUT How do you stand insurance wise with fitting a slightly smaller tyre with a lower speed rating?

lol--I have a few habits but no i have my other foot well clear. The strange thing is that it isn't all the time --only now and again----you start to think that you might have imagined it --then it happens again. The gear change is the same--same trip every day but different change quality every day! The only thing i am wondering though is whether I get a 'baulky' change as i go up/down hill or on bends, as if something may be flexing? i need input from you clutch experts on that one cheers

Do you mean a dealer re-map or a 3rd party one?

Hi guys, I have a 57 Diesel Scout, (I should have entered it on the roll call list by now but haven't got round to cleaning it good enough to take some pics ) I've had it for nearly 2 years now and love it. But I need to ask you fellow Scout owners some Questions:- --Have you experienced a sort of 'clutch slip' moment ocaisionally? Always seems to be when accelerating away from junctions, a momentary 'dead spot' then the car recovers. Ocurrs when accelerating gently or firmly but not all the time. --How is your gear change? Mine seems to be getting more 'imprecise' each month. The gearbox oil was changed to the lighter variety at Christmas but it seems to 'baulk' when moving between 2nd 3rd and 4th. Would really appreciate all your feedback.

Hi folks I know its been covered on here before but I have searched and can't find it-- Today i had a really loud 'BANG' from the Stream MP3 unit. For a moment I didn't know what had happened -thought something had hit the car! Can you shed any light on the cause and remedy? cheers

I put a full set of Uniroyal rainsport 2's on (@ 100 ea) seem excellent so far but only covered about 1k since fitting --oh my steering squeaks too--dealer has tried 2x to sort it --interesting to see about the rack --i will be mentioning that to them next!

Anyone know if there is there a mod to remove the DPF and re-program the 2.0l PD 140 in the Scout?

Just had fitted Uniroyal rainsport 2's --price was good for what appears to be a very good tyre: will have to wait and see how they wear tho. (As you'll know you are recommended to change all 4.) re.probs--nothing to report apart from generic Octavia stuff you will find on the forums.

yeah --all sounds like mine did. vibrated at same revs in 4th, 5th and vibration went through pedals/seat and then whole car when heavily laden. --fill your car with bags of sand and see what it feels like!! Dealer cured mine under warranty--how old is yours? FSH? someone on forum may be able to look up part no. and price for you of prop shaft --maybe room for a goodwill repair 1/2 skoda 1/2 yourself?

check prop shaft. Had very similar symptons (-got worse when heavily loaded) Dealer disconnected prop and found it was slightly mal-formed. Fitted new one and all ok (Excellent service from dealer Martin Beever York)

in my 2.0dl I get a discernible vibration through the pedals and cabin @ 2200-2400rpm, most noticeable in 5th and 6th. Its there when accelerating gently or firmly and you can feel it when you take your foot off and it passes back through the rev band. --any ideas or fellow sufferers?
