I had this problem on my old cavalier (reg1993) so i dont know if the solution is relevant. I had the idle speed control valve cleaned which solved it for about 9 months, cost about £10 the first time, after that I just asked them to do it as part of the service each year.

That freaked me out, I didnt know the cubby hole opened but I spent days checking what position it was in. I got quite worried about it until i was reduced to checking my owners manual.

I got 74.9mpg door to door Stoke to Salford. The M6 waq packed and I spent the first half at in heavy traffic at a steady 55-60mph and then the second half got a bit competitive trying to get the highest mpg I could.

I get quite a bit of condensation front and rear. How much does it cost to get the door seals replaced?

Cheers folks Will try topping up the coolant first to see if that solves it.

Has anyone got any advice for this possible problem with my 1.9TDI PD100. If I turn the ignition and fire it up and then dont move for 30 seconds then the temperature warning light comes on. If I pull away within the first 30 seconds then the warning light doesn't come on at all. Cheers for any advice. Bob
