  1. hopefully it is the exception, ive only done a few miles so far, probably about 10, but so far so good
  2. if it bothers you, you can use Bilt Hamber Atom Mac on them but it is normal
  3. used an LUK non gen one, £211 fitted with new pins that hold it in and bush on the end of it, but I work in parts so do get things a bit cheaper they flushed out all the pipes and there was bits of crap in the fluid somehow, im thinking maybe a seal had deteriorated ? why not ?
  4. I have never towed with mine, and to the best of my knowledge it hasnt been used to tow before I got it, no evidence of a tow bar ever being fitted etc new master cylinder is now on, and initial short road test, it seems fixed, but time will tell and longer journeys
  5. @J.R. what do you mean by 'AF revision' if you mean the part number, none of the ones listed on my own end with AF @MarkLiv did you have any further issues ?
  6. anyone had any issues with the clutch pedal going to the floor, its happened on mine and ive managed get it to the garage, no sign of any obvious leaks so its a case of trying a master cylinder probably and hoping it sorts it, or the box having to come off to check the slave and replace it anyway with a new clutch just wondering if there is anything common to look for before it costs me £££
  7. no just doing it as good practice really, have always replaced water pumps on cars when i have had the belts done, this being on the other side of the engine made it a separate job
  8. Looking at having the water pump replaced on my Kodiaq, 1.4 petrol, timing belt has already been replaced a few weeks ago On Autodata it mentions locking the timing while doing it, why would you need to time up a water pump, it just spins ? Thanks
  9. neither do I, and mines a 2017 lol
  10. Cheers. yes I think I am going to go with that I have a strong suspicion that the 508 stuff is purely to meet some Euro emission standard and nothing else
  11. Cheers, I have checked my car, and no sticker in the engine bay/front panel lol, will read those other threads
  12. so is the image posted above correct for mine @e-Roottoot your post about an hour ago 508 or 504 spec, with 508 being preferred by VAG everything is seeming to suggest the 508 is the correct oil, with 504 being an alternative thats also suitable
  13. in the maintenance booklet, downloaded from the guides section on here, it seems to suggest 508 should be used, with 504 as an alternative, for my engine i have access to the Skoda parts catalogue, and it lets me choose loads of different oils with my VIN in
  14. all of the oil checkers ive been on, Autodata, EXOL, Castrol, Comma are all saying the preferred grade is 0W-20 508 spec
