At last service in January ‘18 they were ~£50 at a main dealer. They put NGKs in.

No doubt George will be along in a bit. The stuff he doesn’t know about twinchargers isn’t worth knowing. FWIW, we bought a 61 plate CAVE vrs estate in 2015 as the wife’s daily driver. Put ~20000 miles on it since. I get the plugs changed every year, probably overkill, not bothered about the cost. It uses a bit of oil, never actually measured how much but there’s a bottle in the boot just in case. Seems to use less since switching to 10w40. YMMV. I’ve seen a misfire once in three years and that was in the first week of owning it. Never seen one since and I don’t drive it softly. That aside, it never fails to make me smile. Only yesterday, traffic light Grand Prix... the look on the face of the guy driving a Range Rover Sport. Let’s just say I ruined his day twice. Twinchargers are a lottery. I like to think more good than bad. Just do some reading on here on what to look out for. And then just enjoy it.

VRS had its first spark plug change today after 16k, 4years. Looking for opinions on the condition of the old plugs, unfortunately I don't know what order they were in the engine. Replacements were NKG SIZFR6B8EG, Skoda part number 03C905601B. The car uses some oil, approximately 1L per 3k miles, so we'll within Skoda's allowance.

Snapped it up a couple of weeks ago. 9750 miles, 1 lady owner, Skoda dealer. Too good to pass up. I've put an extra 300 miles on it just hooning around.

Mine (well the wife's) is a 61 plate estate, still on the original CAVE engine and doesn't use oil. But it's only done 10,000 miles, so plenty of time for problems to crop up. Brilliant Silver, Black roof bars, Dark Chrome alloys.

Hi all, new owner of a mk2 VRS here. How much "whoosh" noise should I expect from the super- and turbochargers? If I floor the throttle, it's pretty noticeable at low revs when the supercharger kicks in. No noticeable power loss though, the thing pulls like a train. So, is it just normal behaviour for the twin charger? I'm used to driving a mk1, where whoosh = boost leak Thanks

That was what I was getting at... £190+ is a lot to pay for clicks... But since Moggytech pointed out that the immobiliser is linked to the dash panel, I didn't like the thought of just leaving it - not without asking the question anyway. As for self cancelling stalks, I remember the BMW 5-series that didn't have one... The only idiots in that situation were the designer... And the guy who didn't ask the question "Is it ok to leave it like that?" Some things are just meant to be there!

Ok... I've done a search and most people with indicator issues have exact opposite symptoms to what I'm seeing!!! Here goes... Last night, the indicators on the fabia suddenly stopped clicking. All of the bulbs are fine, left and right side work ok independandly and together when using the hazard switch. Just no clicking at all! My first thought was a fried relay, but all knowledge on here suggests that fried relays mean either no indicators, or indicator stuck permanently on?? Wierdly, the clicking returned this morning as I indicated to turn out of my street, but stopped again within seconds. Any ideas before I ring the dealer? Thanks in advance!

Well... just got back... The dealer tech got it up on the ramp after taking it for a test drive... TCA bushes ok, ARB bushes ok, Engine mounts all ok as well apparently! They think it's a wheel bearing problem, but I can't confirm this yet as it's not been fixed! To be fair the dealer service (Winners Garage, Cinderford) was spot on, but the Skoda Warranty company were giving them trouble about paying up... Cathy (the dealer receptionist) and I then spent the rest of the afternoon on the phone trying to sort it out and get the car booked in... Finally got everything straightened out, but too late for a fix today. Booked in for repair on 3rd December... i'll update then.

Mine's going into a dealer of Friday... I've got 12mths warranty so not gonna try anything myself yet... Dean... How easy is the removal of all the parts you're talking about? Got the trusty Haynes manual, but still nervous about starting! And whats the 'Carrier' you mention? Cheers Rich

Had a closer look at the console bushes, arb bushes and drop links and all seem ok... thinking you might be on to something with the engine mount tho mate... especially after doing a bit more digging round the forums... knocking seems to happen more with throttle on/off/on/off... Have reposted now, but I'm struggling to find any pics of what I'm supposed to be looking for!

Okay... after much searching for 'clunking' on the forums, I'm pretty sure the 'clunking' sound coming from the passenger side of my Furby is down to the gearbox mount. Like I've said before, I ain't technically minded and this assessment comes from a quick look at the console bushes, ARB and drop links - all of which seem to be in pretty god nick for an 05 plate. All of the threads I've found talk about greasing the mount... but where is it and how do you get to it? Pics would be greatly appreciated... or even just to be pointed to the right post... I've been searching for so long, I'm seeing stars! Good job it's dark or I'm sure I'd be pulling random bits out of the engine bay by now... arrgghh! Thanks in anticipation...

Been searching the forums on this as I think mine (standard fit voided ones) are worn... clunking from passenger side when going over speed bumps is the most obvious clue! Stuck my head under for a quick look. They look ok - not too worn - and after giving both front wheels a good tug, there doesn't seem to be much play. Any ideas on what else could be causing the annoying clunking? And are worn bushes covered by Skoda Approved Used Car Warranty? Don't wanna be forking out if I don't have to! I ain't technically minded with all this DIY car stuff so I ain't gonna be attempting this myself:rofl: Next job... find a DEALER that supports the Skoda Approved Used Car Warranty! My local one doesn't, for some reason (Robert Bamford's - Gloucester):confused:
