  1. Yeh all the doors lock and unlock as they should using the door controls or the key in the door. I'll check out the control unit and see if that helps at all. Thanks for the advice.
  2. Sorry- to clarify, I only have one key and that is the 3 button flip key. I have checked fuse 31 and [unfortunately] it is fine. I'm totally stumped.
  3. Hello guys, I'm hoping that someone here may be able to throw some light on a situation which is making me tear my hair out! I have a '03 Fabia VRS and a few days ago the remote central locking stopped working. I replaced the battery in the fob but still no joy. I was lead to believe that this indicated a faulty fob so [wanting to do everything properly] i bought a brand new one from TPS. Unfortunately i have only ever had the one key with this car so couldn't do the dual key resync process, so again wanting to do things properly i went to my local Skoda dealer so that they could plug the car in and manually sync the new key up to the car. After a very long wait (& a £45 bill) i was told that the key is synced now but the remote central locking wasn't working...still. The branch 'manager' was totally disinterested and told me that they have synced the key as requested and to basically do one. Fair enough - i can accept that..just. The technician told me that no errors were being shown on the car so he couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. Has anybody ever had such an issue? It would be great to hear if anyone else has experienced anything like this. Cheers
  4. Hi guys, I am currently needing to replace the steering rack on my 2003 (53) Fabia VRS. I have spoken to my local motor factors to try and order a rack but am being told that there are two different types (one with a Brown plug and one with a White plug(?)). I have poked around on my car but cannot see any coloured plug to help me! Can anyone here please advise me as to which rack i need for my car (or the correct part number). Many thanks in advance!
  5. Anyone?! Got to get this sorted by tomorrow!!! Surely one of you experts must be in the know! J
  6. Hi Guys, Bit of a strange one, was driving my Fabia SDi without any issues, stopped and reversed into a space when all of a sudden the thing goes nuts! All indicators stuck on solidly (dash tell tells are not on though), front wipers on although stalk in the 'off' position. Also, the boot solenoid popped open! If i turn ignition off, everything stays on (wipers, indicators). Does anyone have any idea what could have caused this? Any help appreciated, i am lost! Cheers, J
  7. I have a spare set of hockey sticks* kicking around in my collection should you be ineterested? *Hockey sticks are the black plastic covers that run along the top of the bed sides on the MK2 pickup. As you are converting from a cube you will not have these (unless you have found some elsewhere)
  8. Yes, it's the standard 1.9D gearbox that comes attached to the original AEF lump. Not sure on power, But i would estimate circa 100bhp (AAZ with tweaked pump)?
  9. Hi all, I have a '98 MK2 Caddy pickup (Felicia pickup) which i have just completed an engine conversion on (now running an AAZ TD lump from a MK3 Golf). I am still using my standard gearbox in the truck, however the problem i have is that the standard clutch cant handle the extra torque from the TD lump (I have a tweaked pump). Please could someone who has any experience with this conversion advise me what i can do to upgrade my clutch?! I'm at a bit of a loss! Thanks in advance, J
  10. Yeh its not the easiest area to work on! It has now been welded and sealed so problem solved!
  11. Thanks for the replies guys, Yes it is the metal panel beneath where the windscreen sits (Prone to rust by all accounts). I have spoken to a few VAG parts specialists and am being told the same thing from all - the part is no longer made and they have no access to new old stock! I have now started fabricating a new panel in house - Although i would still love to get my hands on a weld-in replacement panel if anyone does happen to know of any in existence! Cheers, J
  12. Hi Guys, Does anyone know where i can get a replacement panel for the scuttle on my '98 pickup (a felicia item would work too) I've heard this part refered to as the 'water deflector' panel too. It sits below the windscreen and is prone to rot. I need a weld-in replacement panel. If anyone has any idea where i may find such a thing, i would be very interested to know! Thanks in advance, J
  13. Thanks guys, Think i'm going to just dive in and have a go! Cheers
  14. Hello Guys, Sorry to drag up the whole 'will a mk2 bumper fit X' subject, but i have used the search and so far havent found the answer to my specific question. Anyway, i need to wrack your collective brains! I have a MK2 caddy pickup (as we all know, this is a Felicia pickup with a diffrent grille!) and i was looking into fitting a mk2 Felicia front bumper as it is 100x better looking than the dreary commercial spec unit that comes as standard. Does anyone know if a mk2 felicia bumper will fit onto my pickup, or am i looking at a felicia front end conversion (Bonnet / lights/ Grille)? Thanks in advance!
  15. I've just removed my 'sticks, i suggest you start at the rear and work you way forward towards the cab. Just be gentle with them and try not rush it and they shouldnt give you too much trouble. Best of luck!
