  5. was recently told that my Skoda dosent have a belt , but a chain....could this be where all the rattling noise is coming from ? my temperture gauge only goes up to the half way mark when idling...sonn as im moving it goes all the way down. Is it the water pump making the racket :confused:....is there anyway I can find out what the engine noise is all about with out having to remove and re place timing chain ?
  6. Ok I have looked all over this site for any help with this. My bearing cv needs to be done now ! the droning noise is getting louder and is starting to make me feel quiet sick. Has anyone attempted this here ? im on a budget and am a pretty compident diy'er....do I need any "very" special tools ? I noticed that the new center nut has got 2 blades either side, instead of a split pin....how the hell am I gonna get the old off with them on there :( any help here would be greatly apreciated thank you Skoda Fabia comfort 1.4 200...no abs
  7. hi this is my first posting on Briskoda. Can anyone help me with identifying this noise coming from where the cambelt area is...coming from the left hand side...seems to get louder as the engine warms up. Also the temperture gauge goes down when im driving along and then creeps back up when sitting in traffic...so was wondering if this noise is some thing to do with the water pump. It sounds like a dry bearing noise. Thanks
