  1. That should fit - simply remove the stock headunit (either get the right keys or use small thin bits of metal like a hacksaw blade). Plug the car harness to the new unit and away you go. You may need an aerial adaptor depending on the unit.
  2. What kind of finish do you like - glossy or natural? Glossy got for Megs for a natural look try Angel Wax Elixir or Zaino Z16.
  3. Absolutley nothing wrong with a natural sponge - there is a big difference between these and the man made ones. Both Zymol and Dodo do sponges.
  4. The BH clay is more cost effective as you use water as a lube - another option is a diuted shampoo solution. Cut the bar into 6 cubes - not only is it easier to work with but if you drop it you don't waste the whole bar. Wrap the remaining cubes in cling flim and sort it in a little box.
  5. Indeed a great wash pad. Outlasts a mitt and doesn't rot. A decent sized natural sponge is also worth a look.
  6. I had a 4900 for about 5 years and not had any problems with it. Damn good unit with loads of features - I even connected a reverse camera on one of my cars. The only real issue is the unit sticks out due to the depth.
  7. 6000k tends to be the common colour to go for - 4500k is more OEM. If you are going to fit HIDs set them up so they are slightly low. You should then have no issues with blinding oncoming traffic.
  8. I don't think I have ever looked at a car and thought those DRLs look nice! A horrid chav mod that has no place on a Fabia!
  9. Clearkote is the make - http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/glazes/clearkote-red-moose-glaze/prod_118.html. Chenical Guys do some very good stuff as well.
  10. Ulimate finish, Serious Performance, Motor Geek and Performance Motorcare.
  11. If you want a wet finish ditch the AG. A decent polish and wax doesn't have to cost the earth. Recommened Clearkote Red Moose or Poorboys polish and a soft wax from Dodo Juice (Purple Haze Pro) or Collinite 476 for durability (ideal over the winter).
  12. Hi Just got a quote but was more than the current renewal. Oddly the quote was based on me as the main driver and using my NCB 10+ years whereas the renewal was under my wife who only has 4 years NCB.
  13. There might a small hole near the eject buttun where you can insert a paperclip - this should eject the cartridge.
  14. You need of them and those ebay resistors. 40 horsepower!!
  15. Thanks, yes seems to be a few bolts and it's out. I broke the switch!
  16. Do you need to remove the glove box to replace the light switch?
  17. Not ideal but http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/175631-strage-boot-problemhelp/
  18. The Fabis has off-set pins. Try ebay for the bulbs - way cheaper than Halfrauds.
  19. Regardless - that does look like a good job!
  20. Another vote for Klasse. Easy on and easy off with good durable results.
  21. Don't think you can add an amp to that headunit. Most headunits are din size so you will probably need the trim piece if you swap headunit out.
  22. I've got this problem but intermittent. I think it needs a new handle as the microswitch is knackered.
  23. All sorted! Started removing the fuses one by one and noticed the lights went out when the one for the radio was removed. Then the penny dropped - when I installed the headunit, inadvertently I connected the illumination wire to the battery 12v wire. As everything worked didn't think anything of it. Explains the dead battery as well!
  24. My numberplate lights stay on all the time. I have disconnected the battery - nothing, removed the fuse (number 36 on the panel 5amp) - the lights stayed on! I turned the lights on and off - still stayed on. The car had a new battery installed last night. Help!
  25. Because they look rubbish! Try this: http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=13225&xSec=285 not cheap but a little bit more OEM.
