Hi guys, my girlfriends car has become quite dangerous. It is a fabia 1.4 8v, sometimes when she drives it the front left brake caliper will just lock on and not relaease under any circumstances. However if you leave it over night it seems to be ok for another 5 minutes or five days. Flexi brake pipe has been replaced and the caliper fully checked. Anyone else had this problem or ideas as to what is causing it.

Hmm.. Mine had the same problem, turned out it was a faulty boost controller. Basically a variable resistor. Replaced it and all was well. Really, could be whats wrong with mine. No error codes thought, how could I check the boost controller?
-
No, when I bought the car it was cracked so had another one fitted, not sure what one, but it is just plastic. If leaking boost is the problem would this also account for it being juddery at low speed?

Yes it is remapped, no boost controller. Drove it this morning and it was fine, but problem arrose again this afternoon.

Hi guys, something not quite right with the car. Octavia 1.8T, when driving I feel as if the power just suddenley disapears. The boost usually holds at 12 but now it goes to 14 then 8 then 14 then 8 and so on. It feels like some thing gets stuck and this seems to sap the power, then it sometimes frees up and the power comes straight back. Also I can usually drive at 30mph in 5 gear but now it judders when I do so. Any help will be welcome. Thanks.

Surely the only value of a degree is not just that of economic capital in a market place economy? Even if it were not for increased pay and benefits, I would still have gone.

Whats wrong with my octavia (again)

No codes as yet, will see if star performance can have a look at it tomorrow. -
Hi guys, another problem. When I am driving the car it feels much slower and alot less responsive. When you put your foot down it is slow to climb the revs and then just after 3000 rpm little power and takes ages to reach 4000 rpm. Also feels alot less torquey and does struggle in high gear at low speeds. Coil pack again maybe?

Was at dealership today and saw them MOTing a non Skoda car, still if they are quite why not fit the FERRARI in!

Euro car parts do octavia mats for £25, black or gray.

Ikea do a good cleaner for the car interior, it's not specificaly for cars but works. I use their leather cleaner on the car seats and it works a treat.

I had a Laguna that got nudged once and the insurers got me to take it to Protec in Bathgate, they did a good enough job. To be honest I don't rate westend that highly, at least not for service. For body repairs Simpsons coachworks on 07764474752 in Bathgate are good.

Hi I know a guy who does excellent body work, used to be based in broxburn but is now in whitburn. Is it a bodyshop you need or is it mechanical. The prices are also very resonable and no he is not related to me.
